    997.2 Dynamic Cornering Lights Retrofit?

    Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit the optional dynamic cornering lights on a 997.2? I asked my local dealer and they said that it was not possible but unfortunately they have been wrong 90% of the time with questions like these. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone could also hook up a link to a site where I can order these headlamps, I would really appreciate that!

    I don't know the precise answer to your question, but in my experience all things are possible with Porsche just so long as cost is not an issue..

    DCL require a control unit and various sensors. Even if the CU is purchased and even if we assume  the sensors might already exist on the car for other functions (e.g. PSM), wiring will be a major headache IMO.

    Usually Porsche offer retrofit kits for things that can be retrofitted. In the absence of a kit, I wouldn't risk it, bearing in mind the high cost of the light units themselves.

    Couldn't have said it better myself. Smiley

    The parts alone(two headlights, control unit(s), smaller parts, etc) should be in the 5000-6000 USD range, install not even included. Would it really be worth it? I doubt it.

    If I were you, for the reasons given by reginos and RC, I would only do it if it was available as a Tequipment retrofit item

     Thank you all for your helpful comments. Yeah, I think the fact that there is no tequipment retrofit kit available pretty much seals the deal on the idea. I feel the DCL's give the 997 a more modern look and that would have been good for resale value. Guess I'll be diverting my efforts into retrofitting a PSE!

    DCL definitely look great and even more important they also work great. I can only recommend this feature, guess it won't be standard in a 991 base model.

    Go ahead it's worth it and not only for the sound, which is the primary selling point. After fitting you will immediately notice that the engine revs more freely too and is more pleasant. Extra HP? They say No, but the character of the engine is improved.
