     Hello all.  Just joined the forum today- spend most of my Porsche "surfing" time on Rennlist.  GREAT forum you have here.  Can see a lot more time being spent on this site.

     

    Question for you "experts" out there...  What is the current rumored/expected delivery time (US) for the 991?  Last I read, on page 16x, speculation was Dec. 2011 for a C2/S.  I want to move back to a 911 as my daily drier now that kids are out of rear-facing car seats and my impulses are starting to get the worst of me.  Probably would have bought a 997 at the dealer yesterday if they would have stayed open late enough.  Salesman's lack of close priority probably cost him an immediate sale as I really don't want to buy then trade within a year.  I've spent about the last day reading almost all 174 of the pages in this thread and cannot wait for the formal introduction in Frankfurt.  Thinking of flying over to see it in the flesh.

     

    EDIT- Found the answer for myself: Dec in Germany, Jan/Feb elsewhere. Guess stranger things have happened than beating estimated delivery times, though...Smiley

    hahaha that bouncer guy was hiding the wrong parts.. we don't care about the middle section, just the new front and rear

    Great spy shots... the front looks very promising in design. Expect adaptive flaps for aero and a mix of 959 and 918ness.

    Watching this pictures I got the idea - if someone puts some camo around his 997 and drives around he would rise kind an interest. Those pictures are so "not much" saying - it could be anyting!

    Fruther on - is this side mirror mounted in the triangle or at the door - kind of looks like an 997!

     That's the old camo anyway. The newer pictures usually reveal much more.

    Did they increase the rear seat room in the 991? I see a girl driving the 991 and 2 big guys walking around, one of them must have sat in the back.

    Oh, just one more thing. In all of this, did Porsche stop to think? "Hmm... we need to secretly test a camoflaged 991... I know! let's take it to Los Angeles! Hardly anyone will be around!"

    I'm also pretty sure that these cars are not in Los Angeles for real testing, but are just driving around to stimulate the buzz around the next generation of 911...

    That might be the reason why he covered the middle section and not the rear wing. Smiley

     I very much doubt anyone would know that it was the new 991. Only a Porsche enthusiast would spot that the car looks a LITTLE different from other Porsche's.

    Nick, If you saw any car on the streets that looked as cool as a 911, and it was covered with masking tape... are you telling me you wouldn't look twice?

    I'm even willing to admit that I would look twice if I saw a ferrari covered with camo ;-)

    BTW, saw the california "in the wild" for the first time last week, and that car really looks stunning in the flesh! Loved the nose.

    Yes, there are female testdrivers too and as far as I know, most of them are engineers(and this one in the photo also seems to be kind of pretty but it is difficult to tell if we don't see the rest of her... ). Maybe Porsche should issue with the introduction of the new 991 a 2012 "Female Mule Drivers Calendar" with all their most beautiful testdrivers...maybe in a bikini, maybe topless....
