    I think this is a pretty nice big highway cruiser... It looks good as well, BMW is turning a little dull though but perhaps their i series will now attract all the younger buyers. I would not chose this over the CL though, but then again i would never consider a car from this segment anyways.

    Realzeus, I'm not a big fan of the Bangle BMW-design, but from all those models I find the 6series the best or should I say the most interesting looking. 7series for example is far more hideous IMO. The old 6 may not be pretty, but in some strange way it looks attractive to me. Smiley

     The old 6 Coupe was quite ok for that era. Also since the real complete ungliness has been saved for the 6 convertible.

    So 1845 kg for the 650i that means it's only 60 kilos lighter then the 550i (1905 kg). 

     And compared with the previous model (1725 kg), it's a whooping 120 kilograms more !

    And the 640i (which should be called 630i but for marketing purposes it's called 640)  weights 1735 kg which is 130 kg more then the previous 630i...

     I'm not a fan of any new BMW (aside from the latest M3) that they've put out for a while.  I've always wanted to buy one once I'm done with graduate studies, but they keep getting uglier.

    I dont think the weight matters on this tank. Its not a boy racer, canyon carver or a track star wannabee.

    Its a comfort GT with some sportiness to use on straightaways. Has a lot of room inside so you can drive a lot of miles in it in one day without getting tired.

    It may be the best alternative to a Aston DB9.

    IMO this BMW is a top car, provided that the buyer knows that he is getting a luxury coupe/cabrio for fast travel and cruising, but not a real sports car. Judging from the cabrio (I haven't seen the coupe yet) it is good looking, very well made and impressive in quality and presence. It can really mix with more expensive cars from more exclusive manufacturers without feeling any inferiority. And all these with the impeccable BMW engineering, after-sales everywhere, reasonable costs etc.

    I think BMW invented automobile marketing in the early 70s and they have been perfecting this discipline, since then.

    Would I buy one? Of course not, but I would recommend it to my friends.

    These pictures show a shift in BMW design elements to appeal to the ever growing Chinese market. The headlights and tail light shapes look more Asian than European, they do not look German at all.

    I would blame this on BMW, but really they are just pimping to a nation engorged on interest payments from financing the US Government at the rate of 188 milion dollars per hour.

    Agree 100% and couldn´t have said it better, the old 6 was indeed in some way a special car, this new one is plain and vulgar.

    Just firmly confirmed by the dealer:
    A new 6 (maybe 8?) Coupe with 4 DOORS is in germany available Jul 12 WITH 4wheel drive.
    It would be the direct competitor to the CLS (which is not with AWD deliverable) or almost to the Panamera 4S.

    Today I had an appointment with my BMW dealers, BMW showed the new 6 series in the so-called "Closed room".This means a special, private, enclosed space. In this space, certain interested parties
    can look at a new model before the official presentation.

    I only shot some pics with the IPhone, unfortunately in poor quality.

    I find the design not so bad. Not very exciting, but experienced and pleasing.
    The trunk is not huge, but sufficient.

    The 407 HP engine will be replaced by an update with 450 HP from March/April 2012 in all series.
    That musn't be the worst solution for my personal demands:
    BMW 650i xDrive with 450 hp.
