    LMS Round 1 - HTTT Paul Ricard - 2/3 April 2011

    We will get another chance to see if this year's RSR can compete.

     

    From what I have read from interviews with some of the drivers, it doesn't look too promising. Lets see.

    Porsche fastest in Practice 1 & 2. Lets see what happens in Practice 3 and Qualy.

    I am not a fan of the split, but considering that the other option was to "dumb down" the whole of GT2, then I think we got away with it lightly.

    As you may know, there is an ongoing debate (in the sports-car racing world) between the importance of maintaining the "privateer/gentleman driver teams" happy as well as the manufacturers. This split was the method found to accomplish (try) that task.

    I have some quite strong (and unpopular) opinions about this, but I will keep them to myself.

    The rule is that the cars in GTE Am must be at least one year old. Is it to make racing less expensive or to avoid strong competition between Pro and Am

    Yes. The idea is to keep costs in control by making a year old car able to compete in the amateur class.
