    M5 will be back from the very beginning unfortunately

    .....and the security of 4WD on the Panamera Turbo S.

    I expect the M5 to be cheaper to buy,though.

    There were rumors about Xdrive as an option but nothing solid yet.

    BMW's marketing becomes more and more irritating for the real car enthusiasts. They are trying too hard to create buzz about their upcoming cars. I am fed up with those leaks of incomplete information, viral videos, rumors,...etc. My attention gets "exhausted" long before the product is out. And what's that thing with the snow. With RWD this car is totally useless in snow.

    BMW didn't said when M5 will be presented. All we knew for sure is it will be in Shanghai auto show (initial plan was Geneva, but was changed a few months ago). A lot of car sites reported some unverified dates for presentation, which wasn't true and makes waiting longer. But it will be over soon - press release will be in one week time..

    That bulging front end hides a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter .... The new X3 will re-establish the

    benchmark for the segment the original X3 spawned.

    Invited guests and journalists have seen a car, took photos, but there is still embargo until next week. Maybe there will be a leak before embargo ends and we will see photos sooner.

    Rumors of the output of the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 expected to sit under the hood of the new M5 have reached as high as 578 horsepower, a 23-horsepower jump over the output of the M engines in the X5 M and X6 M.

    Power increase was reached, according to rumors, by optimizing exhaust system flow and adapting the engine software.

    Now everything depends on the weight of this car. I just hope it weights slightly under 2 tons but I doubt it.

    Depending on what ton you are using :)

    2 UK ton? 4480lb? Very likely, my guess is under that.

    2metric ton? 4400lb? Very possible.

    2 US ton? 4000lb? Not going to happen.

    The 550i sedan weights 4376lb, the xDrive version weights 4516lb. The 2 metric ton target is doable.

    All black wheels..  the rage this year for  many OEM supplied wheels on  " hot cars " - whose buyers  will have   the latest car nut trend of  ...early LAST decade

    Betcha the interior will have lots of uber 1995 -cool " carbon fiber " accents, too  !!

    Carbon fiber fits better with sports car and sports sedans. It's better than wood grain which went out of style 100 years ago. Wood in cars only fits 'living room on wheels' like Roll Royces.

    Actually I think they will use carbon leather weave like they did with X5/6M.

    Looks great. The cars are fat because of the amount of luxury in them. They could take a page from Audi and the A8 in the bulk department though.
