@skazzy: No, it is similar though. My previous one had the older interior and exhaust tips. It also had gray interior. The new one also has proper paddle shifters. The old one had buttons behind the steering wheel to shift.
Rossi, Ferdie - you got me
@trip: Thank you, it's very different. The M6 Cab is a lot more sporty to drive and the sound is more exhilarating by a long shot. The gearbox is also more responsive in manual mode than the MB. The SL sounds actually a little similar to the GT2 RS. It has a thundering noise on wide open throttle. It is definitely the straight line king. I think the only two cars that could surpass it would be the GT2 RS and LP640 from the garage.

Great car Mike, this one i can personally attest to because i'm driving my dads SL more than he is
Yours is the bigger brother, but they are twins otherwise (minus 4 cylinders)
Such a special car though, enjoy
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Congrats Mike...I actually should set up an automated greeting engine just for you and your cars. Seriously...the SL 65 AMG is one of my favorite AMG cars, already a classic.

Thanks Atzporsche. Don't blame you, the car is addictive to drive
Thank you easyrider. I have always loved that combo as well. I don't know why there aren't many with them over here.
Thanks John H
Thank you Lars!
J.Seven, I'm a little weary of doing that. The car is already out of hand as is My previous SL didn't give me that G-force sensation, but perhaps MB updated something on the later ones. This one feels like it accelerates much harder.
Thank you ha! Haven't seen you online in a while. Hope you are well and still enjoying your CGT!
Hahahaha! Thanks Christian That is why I kept to the older one. It has that classic timeless feel to it. The new one doesn't at all.
Congrats Mike Your rate of buying new cars is more than my rate of buying 1/18 die-cast models
I think it is time to make a photo shoot of your stable

Problem is there is no wide angle lens on the market to do this job.
Stefan,
I would also like to see your 911 and 458 side by side, too

This SL is a collector, way nicer than the face lifted one with the ugly front end.
The all new one will have SLS DNA and i bet won't be as sexy as the 2004-2007 models were either.
