    Because it is a class in international motorsports.

     The Porsche GT3 was named after the class, not the other way around. Smiley

    Doesn't the GT3 class exist since 2006, while the Porsche 911 GT3 appeared 1999 for the very first time?  

    Am I missing something?

    I wonder what class they're going to run this in?

    My understand is that no GT series, neither FIA or AMLS allows any sort of forced induction engine.
