I think you may have been tempted to get an Audi R8 V10 - if Porsche will be producing all the high performance cars in the VW Group in future, is it the case that the current Audi R8 production will stop and that the current range is the end of the line? I assume so. And since you like the R8 so much, this is the last chance to get one to keep it.
The 997.2 GT3 RS is a great, great track car - but one would think that the 991 GT3 RS will be even better - so why get a 997.2 GT3 RS now?
KresoF1, you always like to get the latest of everything (including replacing existing cars for newer updates) - so IMO the only thing that would make you buy something to keep it is if it is the end of the production line.
Just my guess ...

Easy, it was always a pleasure to discuss different subjects here on rennteam with you. Your opinion about buying something that is at end of production life is the right one.
Next gen of sportscar will be some kind of sport auto boxes. Either PDK, PDK-S, DCT etc. Yes, new 991 is very tempting sportscar and I will get one for sure. Just, IMHO ownership of manual sportscar with big V10 engine will be a great thing for the future.

Congratulations! The R8 (and especially the V10) besides being a top car, it might also be more special in the future because Audi might not repeat this model. Something like the Quattro that was a kind of one off.
What colour did you go for? Body, Blade and Interior? Wheel options?

I ordered the Q5 in Quartz Grey from the standard colour chart. On the R8 V10 it is a special order colour!
Yes, all colors from normal Audi range are special order for R8 V10. Daytona Grey was too dark for my taste and Ice Silver too light. I made decision between Monza Silver(bluish version of Porsche GT silver) and Quartz Grey.
My plan is to get 991 Carrera S PDK also. I will have two very different and great sportscars.
BTW, Q5 is great car, my wife love hers very, very much indeed.

When I was interested in the R8 I picked the same specs as you did now 
Congratulations! It's a great car indeed. And I perfectly understand the manual gearbox option. There is something about changing gears manually that it's soooo satisfying... If I remember correctly also the R8 has a metallic-click sound "attached" 
I am in a similar situation with my Scuderia... I know it's slower than other cars but there is something unique and magic about it... the sound... the brutal gear shifts... the razor driving feeling... The new models are just too efficient... a little soul-less...

No Enmanuel, it is not. But the gear changes are brutal and I like it even knowing that the DCT/PDK/DSG gearboxes are more efficient than my old version of F1.
Also I did some test drives with a R8 manual and I was talking about how nice the feel of changing gears on that car is.

I would not consider the Lambo a daily use car although he did qualify daily use.
Also, I was not aware that lambo's were of high quality or cars as keepers. More like fun cars to be turned in after a couple of years.
Does the R8V10 have manual?

Just this-it is not the lastest tech car and it will be a true keeper for me. My decision is based on pure pleasure that this sportscar is giving. At least to me. So many poeple are making decision based on new tech that is offered by latest models. Well, I reversed the process. For a keeper manual gearbox it is.
My criteria? Excellent build quality, amazing sound, nice looks and car need to be usable daily(to some point).
In early June 2011 you will now my choice with lots of pics and impressions.

As long as you can afford to keep both an analog sports car and a 991 Carrera S PDK type car in the garage. BUT, if you have one shot, I wouldn't choose an GT3 RS or a LP550-2 manual.

I would also opt for the Recaro buckets. They are great, look fantastic and very comfortable.
How is the rebates now on these days on R8s?

Congratulations Kreso. I was convinced you were going for the LP550-2 as that really is different to what the 991 will be like. It's still not too late to change your mind.......
Congrats Kreso.
BUT, as Iain suggests, I also think that LP550-2 is sportier, faster and more raw than R8 V10 therefore a better choice if you will also get a 991 Carrera S PDK.
One car: R8 V10.
Two cars: LP550-2 and 991 Carrera S PDK.

To correct you little bit-LP550-2 is not any faster on any track-in fact it is marginally slower on the track then R8 V10.

Well, you know I'm a big fan of R8 and if I could justify the price difference between my M3 and R8 V8, I would definately prefer the R8.
However, if I were to keep 2 cars in my garage, I would choose the more excitement and raw enjoyment of LP550/560 instead of more civilized and DD R8.
Also by saying faster, I mean in terms of acceleration times. I remember R8 V10 is faster than LP-560, on the Ring at least, so it should probably faster than LP-550, too. But, with the price advantage of LP-550 and RWD chassie, I would definately opt for Lambo. In your case, you will have a perfect DD anyway with 991 Carrera S PDK.
Now, if you put the R8 GT in the equiation, the whole picture is changing. However, they are all sold out anyhow.

Kreso how come MP4 is not on your list? In terms of comfort its probably the most comfortable of all of them by some margin, performance as well. But its is not manual obviously and not as stealth looking with the gull wing doors etc.
You did not consider that one?
