Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

Thanks to the PFF Forum for the pictures - hope you don't mind!

You see - those lights are looking (in my opinion) much better as the pictures Easy was posting. They are very close to the original 997.2. look!

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

Now these are looking muuuuuch better than the first ones!

I think it's because the white parts mimic the shape of the original 997.2 lights much better than the lights that were posted by easy. At least that is when the lights are off. I would be interested to see them in the dark now, Lars would you be so kind?

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

For me they are absolutely what I'm looking for. Looking almost like the 997.2. taillights.

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine..  I happen to like both :)

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

I agree, these even better  but I'm still wondering about the spacing of the leds when they are on, I can't tell from that last pic since its not dark enough.

Great choice I like them very much!

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

So I guess we just need to wait for Lars to put them on his car and give us a detailed photo report about how they look and work.

    I will certainly do! Smiley

Just.... they said it will take up to 6 weeks before I will have them Smiley

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

Lars i think the ones you ordered looks really good, better then the first that posted Easy!

make pics when you will have them,at first look, they seems to be the same of the 997.2!

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

If the rears are changed, then something must be done for the front side/parking lights too. These wouldn't match the more modern rear LEDs. Anyone suppliers front LEDs? Perhaps Techart?

Techart has some front LEDs. Unfortunately they are not integrated in the bumper-lights. So I dont like it as they would look like just cheap tuning. Further on, the rear LEDs are plug and play, but for the front you have to do additional wiring.

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

If the price I read is correct it would be 1200 € for the front LEDs. Thats insane! The wiring doesnt look to complicated though

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

I would never install additional LED daytime running lights at the front of a 997.1. If you plan to install LED at the front, they have to be integrated into the OEM foglights/indicators.

Doesn't RUF have a solution for that? Smiley

Dont know if I like those Rossi!

I would more like to have an module which looks a bit like the one at the 997.2!

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

Speedart offer some too - but I dont like them either

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

Give it a try, if you don´t like it, it´s not a great lost. Anyway, it will always be aftermarket Lars.

I prefer the 997.1 standard lights, especially in the front..

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

I'd rather just spend money making the car faster.

Lars did you end up dropping the new tail lights?

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

    Very nice.

I have a much older 911.  I converted mine to run on LED's.  I kep the standard lenses, but the effect was an overal improvement in brightness.

It was also very cheap that way too.

Re: LED backlights for 997 first generation

I've seen one yesterday in Zürich. First I thought it was a 991 and from the back I saw that it was a 997.1 with LEDs.

Have to say it looked good, but I wouldn't do it myself. I personally would consider the LEDs but not the 991 spoiler.
