    Audi A3 concept

     Set to be a small sporty sedan to debut at Geneva. The sketches look rather good.

    Audi is beginning to dilute itself a bit.

    Just because your parent company has a platform for every segment, doesn't mean you need to make a car for each segment with your premium brand.

    My mother has the current A3 sportback and we are looking to change it with the new one or the new Mercedes A series. The choice depends on the  design.

    The sketches are lacking a bit of sparkle to me... I am somewhat surprised about the premium brands´ considerations of small-scale sedans recently. Which markets are they going to focus on?

    One of the reasons I like the current A3 is its design simplicity and purity. In fact Audi has managed to eschew a lot of the design oddities that both Mercedes and BMW have fallen victim to.  My wife's 011 A3 was ordered in Imola Yellow w/ the Titanium package/Quattro and I think the car is attractive and drives very well although the steering could be a little more taught.

    I find funny those sketches because they always show the model with H&R super low springs and 22" wheels which never get to production Smiley

    A3 concept sedan will be shown in Geneva for evaluation reasons. Audi wants to see how big will be an interest for small sedan.

    BTW, something like V8 is NOT possible for transversal engine layout.

     wow that turned out good. not so often that a car translates so acurately from sketches to reality. of course its still needs to lose some cool to make it to production but it does look great. I'm in the same boat as Aaron I could go for one of these in the near future, provided the new 1 series doesn't make a better point.

    The 1er is quite overpriced for what you really get...

    A close second is the Jetta Coupe that is coming.

    This car looks longer than A3 segmant. It is more like an A4. Are we sure that this is A3 concept?

    Yep the next generation A3 series will have a sedan as well as the 3dr and 5dr hatch and cabrio i guess too

    The VW Group has everything very well covered, from the soon to be released VW UP to Veyron. Honestly, I cannot see why someone has to look further than their brands and models.

    This car is for markets that prefer 3 volume designs to hatchbacks , for example USA. Otherwise why not choose the added practicality of A3 Sportback and go for the A3 Saloon?
