Excellent John! Nice to see that the car is alive
Just curious... I see that you opted for leather center console and pdk-housing, but skipped the full leather options with leather on the dash and doors
Looking forward to see the pictures taken in full daylight!
Lukas - as always, when speccing a new car by configurator, there are some areas of personal preference which could backfire on you. I didn't want alcantara so deleted it.... I did however want the more GT style 'sweep' to the dashboard.. i.e. minus the stitching. I also wanted the centre consul to match the seats i.e. with stitching as the standard consul has always appeared somewhat 'cheap' looking.
It was a gamble, I suppose, but having now seen the car.. I think that it works fine..
Other, maybe controversial, areas that I agonised over were... not ordering a rear wiper or rear park assist. Both decisions were made to give my car a cleaner looking rear-end. Again I think, on seeing the car, that I have achieved that. The sensors are fine on a dark car but are really noticeable and distracting on white.. IMHO.
Mine...
With sensors...
Another I took of mine at the dealers...

It looks absolutely stunning John and thanks for the pictures and the clarifiaction . Great to see that the snow has disappeared also so that you can start enjoying your new ride immedeately. Looking forward to read about your first driving impressions.
Best of luck with your new ride and enjoy it in good health!

Current: 997.2 C2S Meteorgrey/Black - PDK, PSE, LSD, SportChrono, Nav, BOSE, etc.
Sold: 997.1 C2S Black/Black - PSE, Adaptives, PCCB, -20mm/LSD, Short-shifter, SportChrono, Nav, BOSE, etc.
Ferdie - no mistake in the spec, although I was a bit dubious at the time.
As it turns out.. it looks fine and quite unique - a blend of GT- like dash and leather where it belongs..

Great looking car. This model should be available ever since day one the 997 was launched, it would have been a best seller. The fact its presented in end of model cicle, is that it´s going to be more rare and desirable than the regular models, which will provide a good resale value and a special glamour to this beaufiful 997 configuration.

John, that baby looks awesome, really! Such a tastefully specced car, I'm sure you're going to love it to bits!
I have a small favor to ask of you; I know you're head is probably going to be in a very different place when you're taking delivery, but if you think of it, can you take a picture of this poster for me? I love those evolution pictures, and never seen a good one yet with the 991 init as well...
Much obliged!

you mean 997?
Joost - I'm having the car delivered to my home sometime this week, so won't be able to photograph the poster, but I will do it for you next time I'm at the OPC...

John, i have eben driving a Lot lately. Was also a Lot Away on Business. I will post some pics (After The ZAINO Treatment), some Time Next Week. Let me just say that you will 100% Not regret The Car. While it has all The comfort Points of The Carrera s it has a (subjective) much more sporty Feeling(turn in is sharper because of The adjusted Stabilisators, Engine is just Crazy, Even if still a Bit Lazy due to Running in, and The Sound is intoxicating)! Great Choice! Cheers Nick
Can you please comment on the Bridgestone RE050 tyres? Although I'm not sure that you've had them for long enough on the car due to winter conditions.
I'm thinking of trying them on my car as a replacement for Michelin.
In the meantime keep on enjoying this wonderful car!

Reginos - I think Nick mentioned earlier in this thread that his dealer had swapped his Bridgestones for Pirellis..
But I may be able to help you, when I get to drive my new car, as it was delivered shod with Bridgestones. I was told that all new arrivals have either Bridgestone or Pirelli at the moment as the new Michelin Super Sports aren't currently available.. (see Carlos' earlier post)
For that reason I'll stick with the Bridgestones for the time being and give you my impressions compared to my current PS2's when I post my driving report..
BTW - the OPC's demo GTS, which was delivered on the same day as mine, came shod with Pirellis...

John, such a beautiful car, near perfection.
Absolutely agree about the PDC at a white car, though it is very useful but at a white car it's too distracting. Also agree about the rear wiper, never liked it at the 911 and also deleted this option at the Turbo S, never missed it so far.
Enjoy this great car, it's a keeper.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

Thanks and we expect your impressions.
Some people here are enthusiastic with the Bridgestones over the Michelin on the basis of road driving only. They are also cheaper to buy as replacement. They like Pirelli too but in our hot climate they wear out very quickly.
