If the car will look like this you dont need to buy a new one because of the look. To much 997 The jump from 993 to 996 was more radical!
Conclusion: the car will not look like this.

Boxster Coupe GTS:
I agree that the above picture is probably a guess but I find it quite an attractive guess. The curving line that marks the top of the bumper and links the two headlights seems very well composed to me and seems to mirror the angle of the lip on the rear. Then look at how it complements the angle of the LED lights above the air intakes.
Whoever did the Photoshop, very well done.

Some new shots

"And even though our man with the camera wasn't able to capture a crystal clear shot of the front end of the 2012MY 911, it's fairly obvious that the styling is heavily influenced by the Panamera." -.... But I was under the impression that the Panamera front had been heavily influenced by the 911. Oh! It's that industrious design department again!

The similarity is due to the stretched-look (a la XK). The 964/993 were the last of one era and the 997.2 is the last of another era.

Yes, I think P is jumping into the 20'' trend
Unnecessary if you ask me.
Given the larger body, optional 20" may be a necessary addition for cosmetic reasons.

For cosmetic reasons it looks good yes, but it is not good for handling and the car will loose some of it's ' nimbness'

bigger wheels do not necesarily mean better, larger wheels mean more unsprung weight so you have to achieve a balance there, also stiffer ride which may compromise suspension, so there is another balance there you have to achieve that wil give you optimum results in handling. For each car the equation is different so I really hope that they are basing their desition on performance and zero on looks, which BTW maybe it takes some getting used to but 20" looks a bit too pimp to me right now.

Sorry, that's nonsense. F430/Scuderia is bigger than the 991 and has 19"-rims. Do you think they're too small? Definitely no.
458 is big as the F430, also here the 20"-wheels are absolutely unnecessary.

The upcoming Porsche looks more bulbous than the 997 and more so than the Ferrari. Especially in profile it looks rounded, so bigger wheels will help keep the proportions. The Ferrari is slimmer and lower in profile especially at the front and the 19" look just right.
Of course if Porsche go for 20" just for the looks it will be a defeat of "form follows function" maxim

The trend to ever bigger wheels has been going on for many generations but I'm sure you can order 19" on the 991.
I can remember when 15" on BMW and 16" on Porsche were big wheels
Me too.

Stefan,
Problem is in very big wheel archers on new cars(new 6 series, 458 or new 991 for example...). 19" wheels simply look to wimp on these cars IMHO.
Few extra infos that is also in Auto Zeiting article:
-13s faster then 997.2 CS model-claim is 7.40min Ring time
-3.4L base engine with 350ps and 3.8L with 400ps for CS
-in drive dynamics at least class above 997.2 Carrera models
...according to my source new 991 Carreras are much, much better cars then 997.2 models.
