Re: Limited edition GT3 RS rumor

I expect that besides the 4.0l engine and 500 hp, the GT3 RS LE will have less weight thanks to the carbon fiber parts used on the GT2RS. In addition, I expect the modifications to the GT2RS suspsension (solid bushings, etc...) will cary over as well. I have also heard Porsche will improve the areo/downforce package. If I was in the market for a new Porsche, this would be it.

Re: Limited edition GT3 RS rumor

Yeah, I don't see how this car could be anything but awesome if it has 4.0L Metzger motor, Manual 6-spd, >500hp and better suspension with less weight.  They'd have to try hard to screw it up.  It should be an enduring classic afaik...

savvy: Witness the same old GKN Limited Slip Differentials in the GT3's that become useless after one track day.
PCCB that bevel wear their pads so badly the backing plates go into the rotors and the wear indicator never activates, engine coolant fittings that lose their adhesive-only grip, pop out, and spin a driver instantly on track.

Hope they prove me wrong. But so far they simply don't seem to care?

GKN Limited Slip Diff problem, could you elaborate more on that, what exactly is the issue?

Re PCCB's, did Porsche take care of that problem for you (on warranty)?

As for the coolant fittings, how did Porsche fix this issue for you?

    Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!

I have. Left a €10k deposit to pre order the car.

They didn't give me more details than what is said around here. They told me to expect a price of c. €200k.

Re: Limited edition GT3 RS rumor

Interesting thank you Spyder Idol !

The question is to know if the air restrictors have an effect on the torque of the engine ?

Re: Limited edition GT3 RS rumor

Yes, air restrictors will definitely affect torque (more at high engine speeds than low).  The peak torque may not be affected much, but the torque curve will have inevitably less area under the curve.

Any clue how much the RSR engine puts out without air restrictors?

Re: Limited edition GT3 RS rumor

    Porker:

I heard once that it was WAY over 500hp (maybe close to the 600hp range).  When you spin to 9,400rpm without restrictors and with Individual Throttle Butterflies and very high compression (race fuel required), you can make a bunch of power.

The street version should make over 500hp without restrictors, a more reasonable redline, and without race fuel fairly conservatively.

It will indeed be something special but believe it or not, I didn't get any rumor yet regarding technical specs, which is weird (considering our contacts). Which leads me to believe that the specs aren't final yet.

So far we can't publish any detail for various reasons.

Don't expect something completely new but a lot of tweaks of current technology.

I think I can say one thing for sure though without putting anybody in trouble: Expect a price tag beyond good and evil...even compared to the last GT3 RS.
