finally looking sharp... love it. finally they did something to the rear popout spoiler to make it look like a real wing instead of the current one. Seems to be a wider rear too.
will the car be revealed earlier in Geneva rather than Frankfurt? I need to place my deposit now before it goes to the MP4-12C.... hahaha

Take a careful looks to the side pics of the Cab !!!!Great narrow shape, It almost look like a speedster model compared to 997.2 Cab.
But I rather prefer the rear of the orange car Ron posted, those narrow rear lights are to die for, and makes the rear more unique...lets waite and see the final product, I´m sure I will love it too.

Hope the rear spoiler, when not activated, melts into the rear deck more smoothly. Now it seems to protrude a bit, breaking up the smooth flow from rear roof line to bumper. Also, the rear deck line between body and lid reminds me a bit of the BMW rear lid line. Looks somewhat zigzaggy and in opposition to smooth lines of rear quarter panels. Personal, preliminary views of course...

that should be for the 991.2 . P seems to have the habit to make the new car less then perfect, selling on the novelty, and then finishing it properly for the .2 version.

Don't you find it wierd that all the cabrio pics so far, are with the roof up ?? Doesn't that indicate that that is not a folding roof, but a removable hardtop which is generally used in cold seasons, like autumn/winter ? Sure, it could also mean that they didn't want to freeze their asses off and that's why they kept the roof up all the time

I suspect (probably wrong though) that the top is a folding metal top, concealed with the cloth over it. Perhaps (if this is true) lowering it would make this secret too obvious, or may not even be possible without removing the cloth.
Maybe...
I also wonder if the front is still concealed. I have a feeling that it will resemble the 918 a bit.

I really don't think they've gone the metal top rute...that thing adds a lot of weight to the car, and porsche doesn't want that, does it ? In fact, they specifically said that with the new model they want to SHED weight, not add weight.

I am hoping the rear lights don't look like this. They appear huge.
I also don't like the front of this yellow car, mainly the lower vents/bumper.
Judging by the spy pics with the spoiler up, it looks like it won't be a spoiler that splits open like on the Panamera, or in this pic.

Fuchwheeler raises an interesting question--
if the roof section has a "dynamic spoiler" in addition to one over the engine bay and the car was designed/engineered with the extra spoiler -- it would mean the cab version will only have one spoiler and perhaps even more different aerodynamics?
just a question for the more engineer-savy members--
i find the Larson picture of the backend with the orange-ish rendering great but i really don't like the yellow front end --
also-- the recent KGP spy shot of the side view makes the car look really wedge-like and bulky to me -- however the aerial view and rear-view makes it look like it has more interesting curves--
just my two bits

I dont think it will be a spoiler... it would make sense for a ram air duct purpose (to direct airflow to the engine faster) at the roof area rather than having two separate spoiler sections. my 2 cents guess anyway.

I think it's shaping up nicely
Rear on that pic reminds me of BMW Z8
Those lights are obviously a camo,i wish it had thinner lights like older cars, not tall/bulky units like 996/7
But then again maybr thin ones would look wrong on modern(waaay bulkier)butt

997.1 was officially introduced in Geneva 2004 I assume since it went to production early summer 2004. So to say that Frankfurt will be the launch venue for the 991 would not be an absolute must if history is something to relay on
