Wow nice video, but they are driving in the worst place to enjoy these cars... Holland, with 120km/h strictly enforced highway speed limits.
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Really depends of where you drive. If you stay away from the Randstad (Amsterdam/Rotterdam/Utrecht) it's not so bad.

LOL Aaron, obviously, you haven't lived over here long enough! ;-)

True, and I lived right near Schiphol. There was a nice road towards Zandvoort and then a couple in Flevoland but highways were a pain almost where ever you are..

Very enjoyable video, one of the better ones. Nice sound from the aftermarket exhaust on those stradale's and good driving.
not so good driving but wild to watch
haha so American. On their cell phones and running out of petrol dodging traffic.
Let me guess, the GT had electrical issues and the C6 had gearbox problems

I can only imagine how bad your anti-american bent will get when you move back to Europe. The 2 guys driving the vette are AUSSIES/BRITS!
But as to the cars - the Ford GT is the only car that comes to mind produced in the last 10 years that has held its price or gone up. Maybe the Enzo can be put in the same category, maybe not. The GT is a phenomenal car. I spend time reading the GT board once in a while and it is really enjoyed by the owners and sought after. I examined 2 at a local dealer back when they were new and was on a few drives with one. They are nice and extremely unique.
As for the vette, I think that was a Z06, not sure, but if I were as obsessed about numbers as a lot here are I would be driving either a ZR-1 or Ford GT.

haha it was a tongue in cheek comment, i love north America and i will return to build my career here once i pick up my "free" masters in Europe
As for the GT, I love it, in real life it is nothing short of stunning. The front is stunning, the rear is just pure sex and even the interior is very very well done. I think they hit the right retro mix.
But holding value? We had a red GT sit in my local dealer for $129,999 for over a year. This is in West Vancouver, arguably the most affluent community in Canada. We got two CGTs and countless F cars and whatnot. Yet the GT sat in the showroom, i was almost angry because once they reduced the pricetag to $99,999 CAD it was simply the best deal this side of the Rockies. Guess who ended up buying it
As for the original video, seeing a Stradale is really special in Holland because you wouldn't believe what they paid to get it on the road....

It's not a warm cheeseburger, when someone with 170K burning a hole in his pocket comes by it will move
Interesting fact I just learned, of the 4000 made 1000 have been wrecked

The problem with this car is that it's not an original GT-40. It's a new version (albeit limited production) of a car whose pedigree was established decades ago. It's a nice to have car but I don't see values increasing all that much beyond what they are today.

I don't see that a problem at all SINCE it was designed/made by FORD and not some pseudo car builder. Ford is the original builder and Ford built this. That makes it as real/original as it gets for me.
They did a great job on it too - the exterior is perfect, the interior nice, the engine bay structure great. The only problem i have is the engine itself - basically a mustang gt engine with a supercharger. I do NOT like turbos or superchargers.
Bill thinks its real

What about the new Shelby GT500? In many respects a better car than the original
Still a supercharger plus todays Mustang is so inflated compared to the lean small car it was.
Here is the nicest Mustang I have ever seen, the body style, the paint job, and of course the engine. Extremely rare and as nice imo as any collectible from any manufacturer.
from mustang history (best year for engines and performance)
1968
Comments: The 1968 Ford Mustang received a simpler grille and side trim and a limited number of 427 engines were slipped into the engine bays. These 427 engines were slightly detuned but still cranked out 390bhp, enough to strike fear on the streets. Then on April 1, 1968, Ford unveiled perhaps its most famous line of engines, the 428 Cobra Jet. It was based on the regular 428 but included larger valve heads, the race 427's intake manifold, and an oil-pan windage tray. It had ram-air induction and breathed through a functional hood scoop. Output was listed at 335bhp but was rumoured to be around 410bhp. The Shelby's were still available, joined by an available convertible model and renamed the Shelby Cobra. The GT-350 dropped its 289 cid 306 bhp engine and gained a 302 cid 250 bhp engine. Midway through the year, the GT-500 was dropped and was replaced by the GT-500KR ("King of the Road"). The GT-500KR sported the new Ram Air 428 Cobra Jet, still underrated at 335 bhp.
Production:
2D Hardtop: 249,447
Fastback: 42,581
Convertible: 25,376
Engines:
200 I6 115 bhp.
200 I6 120 bhp.
289 V8 195 bhp.
289 V8 271 bhp.
302 V8 230 bhp.
(Shelby Cobra GT-350) 302 V8 250 bhp.
390 V8 320 bhp.
390 V8 325 bhp.
427 V8 390 bhp.
(Cobra Jet) 428 V8 335 bhp @ 5400 rpm (est. 410bhp), 440 lb-ft @ 3400rpm.
(Shelby Cobra GT-500) 428 V8 350 bhp.
Performance:
(Cobra Jet) 428/335: 0-60 in 5.4 sec, 1/4 mile in 14.01@101mph.
The local Jag and Ford dealer here has had one on the showroom floor for about 2 or 3 years now and has not been able to sell it. If production was only 4000 and 1000 have been wrecked it could gain value over time. Just not anytime soon.
^^ Depends what he wants combined with the very small market of the DR (not to mention the real world is still in a depression)
See this - a black GT on Ebay with only 3 miles bid to 151,000 which is sticker (reminds me of mikes CGT - still wrapped)
