My car had a 111 point check done today at my local OPC. It passed so I got a 2 year Porsche Extended Warranty with 2 year's Porsche Assistance included. All for £2095 + £180 + VAT = £2306.50 It's a lot of money but it buys me peace of mind knowing that if something goes faulty, it's covered (hopefully)
I also got my annual Road Tax disc - it's now £435 Can't believe how little benefit we get as motorists from the Government

My extended warranty ran out yesterday. As I'm expecting delivery of the GTS within the next couple of months or so, I decided not to renew the warranty on my current car.
As I've had no warranty work done over the past 24 months, I just hope my luck doesn't run out for the next two....!

Hopefully, you won't need it - it's a lot to spend for just 2 months peace of mind - unless it's something major, IMO it would probably be cheaper to repair smaller faults than buying a 1 year warranty.

Are you PX'g it John. If you are no point getting the Extended Warranty at all. Time Easy got a new one I think. Can't be a GT2 RS as I believe the 500 have sold out. Perhaps you could go for one of these 4.0 ltr GT3 RS there is rumoured to be coming out.

Rich - I'm happy with my current one I'm not finished with it yet
My plan is to track it some more over the next few years - plus my wife wants to attend some PSDS courses at some point - so I would prefer it if she did that in this car
As for future models, the RS is really a track car and not a daily driver. I already have a nice blend of performance, handling and luxury in my -20mm sports suspension car but, for me, my current thinking is that my next car should be a 991.2 GT3 That would do very nicely I want the next one to be a facelifted model rather than the new model launch range.

That´s not that bad, round here we pay 600eur annual, and cars are way more expensive than rest of Europe, get this, Carrera S Cab can easily cost you 145.000eur Why do I had to end up living in one of the worst place in the world to buy sports cars maybe because it has the nicest beach and women in Europe ...ok Carlos, I have to agree Spain is a tuff competition on this regard

The cost breakdown in the UK is as follows:
2 years Porsche Extended Warranty is £1820 (i.e. £910 per year if both years are bought together)
2 years Porsche Assistance is £275 (i.e. £137.50 per year if both years are bought together)
Plus £211.50 for the 111 point check in order to issue the Porsche Extended Warranty.

Guys, I wanted to share a photo diary with you of the visit to Bruges and Knokke in Belgium that my wife and I enjoyed last weekend. We had a really great time!
Although temperatures were quite cool at around 12C, we were lucky to have dry and mostly sunny weather throughout our trip.
Fortunately, the industrial action at the Port of Calais (by French workers protesting at the increase in the retirement age in France) caused us only an hour’s delay. Apart from that, everything else went very smoothly throughout our trip.
As for our journey, in total, we covered 349 miles (561 km) with an average fuel consumption of 25.4 UK mpg. The total mileage of the car has increased from 20260 miles (32607 km) to 20609 miles (33168 km). The car never missed a beat and made the journey a real pleasure!
Costs:
Return P&O ferry ticket (including priority boarding) £77
Fuel £26 (plus around half a tank of fuel already in the car)
Meals and drinks £63.92
Shopping (chocolate, macarons & pâtisseries) £102.11
Car parking (2 days) £12.69
Accommodation (2 nights including breakfasts) £156.16
4 year major service, change: brake fluid, spark plugs & wiper blades, check: airbags, TPMS/RDK batteries, drive belt, rubber mounts £695.22 (€794.91)
Total £1133.70
The total figure is about the same as the amount I was quoted by various Porsche dealers in the UK just for carrying out the work on the car. So our weekend trip to Bruges and Knokke (including all shopping) basically cost us nothing extra!
Before leaving Porsche Centre Knokke, I spoke to Philip, the technician who did the work on my car, and he confirmed to me that there were no recalls, service campaigns or software updates for my car. He also told me that the battery and the suspension are both in good condition, that the front & rear brake pads all have around 75% wear remaining and that the front & rear brake discs are like new. So, hopefully, it’s good for another 2 years :) All in all, I’m very satisfied with the work that Porsche Centre Knokke did for me.
As for the car itself, after the work was completed, it felt really rejuvenated and its performance seemed livelier to me. Others here on Rennteam have attributed this improvement to the new spark plugs. All I can say is that, whatever the underlying reason for it, the work carried out made a noticeable improvement.
There are 124 photos in total which were taken with my Nikon D90 DSLR camera. The photos are all in high resolution so if you click (and/or double-click) on them, larger versions should be viewable. Hope you enjoy them!
Cheers,
Easy

3) We had a very smooth journey to Dover where we filled up with fuel and waited for the ferry as the sun began to rise. Due to the industrial action in the Port of Calais (by French workers protesting at the increase in the retirement age in France) we had to wait for an extra hour before we could board the ferry. Other than that, I am pleased to say we experienced no other problems during the entire trip.
