The GTV, TT, R8, A5, Scirocco... have all been very very succesful design wise in their class, I'm impressed.
But specialy, I like what he said here: "I really hope to be able to add something positive to Porsche's new models, which will remain coherent with the great tradition of Porsche."

To be honest, at least I hope so, I think that the current press hype about VW forming and molding Porsche's future, is just a publicity stunt to make clear where Porsche belongs and who is the gatekeeper now. At the same time, it is some sort of warning shot towards Porsche employees who are fighting for an independent Porsche inside the VW group.
It really depends now on how Mr. Müller integrates into Porsche and how he gets along with longtime Porsche employees and decision makers. Maybe Mr. Müller is a new wave of fresh air inside Porsche but he needs to make sure he doesn't become a tornado.
Porsche is not Lamborghini, Bentley or Skoda, it is a huge traditional company with lots of employees and a very strong engineering department. Stirring up emotions and threatening employees (directly or indirectly) wouldn't work very effectively.
Time will tell but VW needs to be careful to leave Porsche enough leash to do their "own thing" up to some point.

Sorry for that, but did you see only one single design style in the gallery which is desirable to have on a Porsche ? 
I'dont like the uniform Audi design that appears on all new Audi like a influenza virus.
I'm praying that de Silva will retire soon before we all can't see any difference between an Audi and an Porsche. Sorry for the harsh words but I'm most concerned about an Audi/VW influence designwise on the 911 icon.

Designers design whatever the brand " DNA " cliche requires . Michael Mauer was at Saab and Mercedes before that - does his influence on the Porsche 918 Hybrid look like either ?
IOW, no chief designer has a free hand - they are all mercenaries/hired guns , even at that level.

DO not be concerned, indeed designs don't have as much freedom as we think, especially in a brand like Porsche. Ideas still go through approval and refining. The Porsche DNA will remain, and with recent trends we will see more hard-core P cars then ever! It's rather interesting actually, because Porsche is pushing their boundaries very carefully in the right areas.. next supercar a hybrid, more track models...

Well on the flipside of that is the fact that you are comparing VW to Porsche. Of course it is a different market so for these brands. I think the current VW is mighty impressive. What other brand has their model lineup so organized as seen above? I think that's a good thing.

That VW line up looks like going to a department store and seeing the same shirt in every possible size (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL etc) .... how depressing 
They're supposed to be different shirts made by the same company

I love it. Compare their line up to the brand new Mercedes C-class just released for 2011. Looks so dumb, old lights, are you serious? Till 2014 the C-Class will have outdated lights
