I really like it - some Panamera and Cayenne resemblence but not too much - IMHO with each new model range, the 911 interior looks less and less like the interior of a sports car (i.e. less purely functional and increasingly more comfort orientated). However, it's partly just because of what I am currently used to - so I expect I will quickly adjust.
I think it's a nice improvement on the 997 and makes me look forward to getting a 991 even more

The shape of the center console and general order of items is very much taken from a 928. Just a little too busy.
now a 1 piece sloped divider of the cockpit, vents at top, radio + inst, then shifter, then switches
just like the master
VS. the old NON-separated interior with just a flat wall and very abrupt upright facade of controls which went back to the early days of the spartan 911 where the dash was a simple thing hanging on the firewall. Congrats to 911's finally getting a cockpit.
Maybe someday they will give you a moveable pod, then you will really be movin on up to the east side!

You cannot satisfy all of the people, it seems.
The current interior has been criticized in the press and elsewhere of looking too spartan and simple for an expensive car. Now Porsche are trying to make something more expensive-looking and people wish it stayed as it has been.
Regarding the abundance of buttons, I drove a Panamera S yesterday on a 100km trip and I tried to see how confusing they really are. Maybe 2/3 of them are for the 2-zone climate control which are rarely used. The rest are very easy to remember and of those you need to use 2 or 3 on the move. Besides they looked very nice and classy.
BTW I was very impressed by the Panamera S refinement, effortless performance, road manners, ride and the factor of feeling very good and very safe inside this Express.
The car had 19" wheels and I think you need 20" or 21" wheels because on slow corners and roundabouts the front doesn't grip immediately and at slow speeds the feel is not as I wished. Servotronic doesn't help in this respect either in combination with 19" wheels.

Who prefers the old interior ? 
I like the new interior a lot, I just don't like the fact that Porsche, again, is using so much "silver" and then tries to sell you various carbon, paint, wood, whatever kits for serious money to make that silver "go away".
They should make it all black and then let people decide if they want alloy look, carbon or whatever.

I just noticed that the cupholder in the new 991 comes out quite far in front of the PCM. Risk of a wet PCM perhaps?
The PCM display shouldn't be a problem, I'd be rather worried about the buttons unterneath. 
Usually, it isn't recommended to use open cups/bottles in cup holders. I always use a bottle/whatever which can be closed. One spilled coffee with milk left a real (stinky) mess, never again.
