Actually the 512TR is a 90's car. Look at the 360 behind it - so puffy and bloated. IMO the 360/430 will not be remembered well as the years go by. More like a bad period between the beautiful 355 and the back to curves 458.
Are ear rings a German thing? The 80's did produce a LOT of good music, the BEST F1 period, and the decade of the 928.

the 360 behind it has the ugly Novitec lips and bumpers, but I agree on its looks vs 355 and 458. never liked the front bumpers on the 260/430.
However, the 512TR is a horrible ferrari. First in this pic it looks like a cheap asian kit car with lights in the bumper. But the front is still nice, sort of 355 resembling. The rear is just plain horrible IMO. Definitely not the best looking Ferrari mate.

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Japanese cars never even enter my thoughts for any reason. Lights in general are not notable either except really cool unique one like the 928s or the angel eyes on newer bimmers.
This is a rule - low and wide and compact make an exotic!
The 512TR like todays murcie and One-77 exemplify that. I don't know how many you have seen in real life but they make a statement that few other cars can do. Add to that the most graceful curves of any ferrari and you have a winner. The original testarossa looks unfinished the M version is overdone the 512TR was juust right. Of course it needs performance, interior, and sound upgrades but looks wise 
Watch this for the body shape the curve from the back fender that goes to the front wheel well, repeated again on the nose and again by the roof line - thats great design.

That's the european 2005 Ford Mondeo. It looks pretty much the same as the NA Ford Focus 2005-2008 but it is more in the segment of a NA Ford Taurus.
