    I'm new as well... Hello...

    Hello...

    I'm new here as well, and having just taken delivery of a Cayman S, I felt I should look for a good forum to join. I found all of you...

    My Cayman S looks like this...

    Basalt Black

    Black Sports Seats

    Bi Xenon

    Black Leather

    Heated Seats (needed those today as we are snowing here)

    19" Carrera Classic Wheels w/ Colour Crest, etc.

    TPMS

    Bose

    I have to say that after 700 + miles I really think I made a fine decision. I'm so pleased (thus far) with the balance of this car, and how I feel piloting her.

    I live in America (Boulder, Colorado) roughly 15 ~ 18 weeks per year, with the rest of the time being split between my other homes in PanYu City, (Guangzhou) China and Khabarovsk, (Far East) Russia.

    I have a nice array of cars in each place, and the interesting thing is how climate has effected each decision.

    Here in Colorado I have:

    2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV

    2005 Audi A8L

    2005 MBZ SLK350 (AMG package)

    In China I have:

    2004 Hyundai Sonata Gold

    2005 Cadillac CTS (3.6 Litre) --- American built, BTW

    In Khabarovsk I have:

    2001 Lexus Harrier (our RX300)

    and waiting a new order 2006 Lexus GX 470 from Japan


    I have to say that the Porsche has already won my heart and soul... I love driving this car, and that feeling of utter control and balance really make me feel so "right" in this car.

    The one thing I'm wondering the most is if I made an error in not ordering PASM... Not sure if I made a mistake here or not.

    I'm in the audio business and thus far I would have to say that the Bose System is adequate, but not really "right on"...

    Oh well... Just wanted to introduce myself and get acquainted a bit...

    Wow... thanks for the invite. I'm actually unable to get away this weekend as I have one family member travelling to The Bay Area, and another heading to Japan the following weekend... Lots to do here to get her (my 13 year old Granddaughter Gracie) ready for her first visit to Tokyo...

    Perhaps another time...

    I am sure most have forgotten this particular thread, but I thought some folks would be interested in knowing that the poster, mlschifter, whoi is more properly known as Mark L. Schifter, owner of the now closed down AV123, was indicted earlier this year for running a series of fraudulent charity raffles. He absconded with approximately $150,000 and in the process defrauded causes like Sloan Kettering Cancer, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the American Red Cross (Hurrican Katrina), and several others. He pleaded guilty earlier this month and will be sentenced on October 8, 2010.

    Even though he has not posted here since 2006 I trust he will be thrown out on principle. I would not wish to share a "family forum" with an individual who knowingly fed off innocent peoples generosity.  I am sensitive particularly over cancer charities having seen my father die of this awful disease 12 years ago and a close work colleague whose young wife, and mother of four young children is this week being admitted to hospital with serious cancer for the second  time in four years.

    Rennteam need to distance itself from this b*****d.

    It's a very unfortunate set of circumstances that can only be partially rectified when he is sentenced. As one might imagine, improprieties extended past the raffle fraud - unpaid suppliers (some $1M and more), monies borrowed from forum members (investors) up to about $300K, products sold that were never delivered, gift cards and coupons sold that turned out to be worthless, etc. - and only a very small portion of that will ever be able to be recovered.

    With respect to the cars he claims to have had, I can offer the following. The vehicles in China were provided by one of his suppliers/business partners for his use and did not belong to him. The vehicles that went to Khabarovsk were for his mistress and it was a part of Russia he frequented often. It's unclear if the vehicles in the US were bought or leased. Most suspect the latter. Mark Schifter also had a penchant for upscale watches, cameras, and pens. Over the past months, there has been an ongoing sale of these items in places like Craigslist, Rolex forums, etc. as he attempts to raise money for whatever.

    I rather doubt he'll ever post here again even if no action were taken by the moderators here. I thank you gentlemen and ladies for the opportunity to bring this to your attention. Some may recall the old saying, "Things are seldom what they seem. Skim milk masquerades as cream." Enjoy your passion, folks.
