Not long to go till the next F1 race Smiley

It looks like Ferrari is planning some major aerodynamic upgrades for Valencia, Silverstone and Hockenheim.

I don't post much, just lurk a lot, but just a heads up: this site is magnificent for all the F1 discussions & links. Thanks!

Damn, those who support cheating and cheaters must be loving this season. There hasn't been a single race where there wasn't something for them to be loved and always involving the same characters.

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

Anybody has any doubts Hamilton is in bed with Whitting? Hamilton cheats "once again" and he gets away with maintaining his position and the gain he obtained from cheating, unfreaking belivable, this is a freaking fixed circus. This season is bogus.

And I thought, it´s because he was affected... Smiley

I still think that F1´s current state of performance is rather unimpressive, it´s the mistakes and odd actions that make this season interesting so far. Webber´s crash, Hamilton´s safetycar manouvre and Alonso letting Kobayashi pass at the very end are highly entertaining but do not necessarily show exemplary skill and sportsmanship.

Smiley In Germany we say "Hans im Glück" (Hans in Luck).  Not sure what Hans is called in Spain.... Looks as his luck ended when he met Hamilton in 2007.

Alonso smoked by Schu (In Monaco)...by Hamilton in Canada...finally by Kobayashi in Valencia...Smiley   very disillusioning start for a "new era" at Ferrari...

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

Great job by Kobayashi! He returned my faith, that this sport will have real men once again, not only crying puffies. Sorry friends, but Alonso comments over the radio were ridiculous and funny! He is Damon Hill level of a champion; not even close to Lewis, period! Before he try to comment something else in the future, I expect him to survive in at least one battle on the track... with Kobayashi at least :)

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

Alonso did smoke by a lot of other drivers before, when he had the dominating car. That's how he won his 2 championships. He clearly is having trouble showcasing his driving skills without the faster car. Or without the help of Flavio, or a teammate that will crash for him, time for Massa to do the right thing and crash out for him.

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

Alonso could show more performance on the edge this season, that´s what I certainly agree on. He made some odd mistakes that I cannot fully understand, such as crashing at Monaco or the overtaking manouvre of Kobayashi yesterday. He could´ve focussed on defending his position which would´ve been quite feasible on such a street circuit.

However, can you name one teammate that has been superior to him? Spare the discussions about Hamilton, I would rate him as equally fast (you probably won´t). He is quite dominating inside the team for a driver with supposedly lack of talent...

...a lot of if and when for a driver which is named double F1 champion. His season is not a desaster, though far away from being a convincing performance by Alonso. Aside to other qualities, a top driver differentiate himself to others, that he takes chances. And Alonso missed a lot of chances this season (Australia, China, Monaco, Canada...).. considering that, his Bahrain victory smells even more than a typical Alonso pick-up victory.

Our favorite cheater is provoking Teflonso (or the Dolmio boy as some English fans call him as well for reasons I don't really know, must be something similar to calling R. Benitez a 'Fat Spanish waiter' of R. Nadal an 'ape') knowing that in Silverstone he will be allowed to cheat as much as he wants

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

I'm shocked with all this comments... I'm sure Alonso will win this Championship even FIA is trying to help Lewis again and again... and about Alonso's crash in Monaco...  days after the crash some journalist give the info that it was a mechanical problem... not doubt about it watching the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuPOuXdoq-0

And good luck to Hamilton's fans cause u will need it..

Hm, I don´t see it like that. Since his championships at Renault, the only time he was not entirely competitive has been with Renault, other than that was always amongst the leading drivers. To me, that doesn´t translate into pick-up victories. Furthermore, all of those teams have developed very well during his time being. What I am missing right now is that outright determination that Schumacher, Hamilton or himself in the past have shown and, as his effort in setup and development is still strong, wondering what the reason is. As said above, being passed in the ultimate laps at Monaco and Valencia is quite surprising.

We have had this debate over and over, I don´t think any of us will change our opinion so rapidly... Smiley

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

Even for the most objective person, doesn´t it appear odd that McLaren received a penalty for below incident despite no other team being hindered? Compare that with this season´s incidents at McLaren and the accompanying reprimands:

Re: 2010 European F1 Grand Prix in Valencia

Very enjoyable race - I'm glad Webber escaped unhurt
