    Thye rain sucks, but at last the sun seems to have come through.  It was 25 degrees here in the UK today and forecast to be 27 tomorrow. That will be the summer though and probably will rain on Monday...............

    BTW, German Auto Zeitung tested 997.2 Turbo S cabrio in latest issue.

    Results...

    0-100km/h  3.0s(!)

    0-200km/h 10.2s(!!)

    Wow, those numbers are faster than the 458. Not bad for a Cabriolet.  One can only assume the S coupe will be marginally faster.

    AMS had the 458 doing 0-200 in 10.4.

    Form 0-200 km/h the S is faster.

    FWIW, Quattroruole always has faster numbers for Italian cars/Smiley

    You have to wait for AMS test of Turbo S. Autozeitung provides extremely good times usually, comparable to Quattroruote.

    With regular Turbo PDK, AMS did 0-200km/h in 11,2s and Autozeitung 10,4s. Turbo S will hardly be faster in AMS than Italia.

    Back OT... 997.2 Turbo PDK or Turbo S are also amazing sportscars-by far the best value in 500ps+ class IMHO.

    In latest issue of EVO is comparison test between Turbo S, SLS AMG, R8 V10 and few other cars...

    Results for 997.2 Turbo S Coupe

    0-60mph: 2.9s

    0-100mph: 6.8s

    0-120mph: 9.8s

    1/4 Mile: 11.0s

    Bedford track: 1.1s faster then SLS AMG...

    BTW, these resluts implies that Turbo S till 220km/h at least as fast as 458 Italia.

    Customer car ?

    One or two passengers ?

    From the tests so far, it seems that Turbo S has 0,3s advantage in 0-100km/h and 0,3s advantage in 100-200km/h. I would expect bigger difference in 100-200km/h.

    This new PDK TTS stablish new preformance standarts for a car with only 530Hp. It matches and wins cars with well over 600hp, simply amazing, well done Porsche.

     This shows just how much the 4wd tractions and PDK gearbox helps the lower speed acceleration numbers. This is just like the Nissan GTR (just sold mine).

    The 100-150mph times are still great, but are relatively less impressive as they are much closer to the R8 and SLS and slower than the 599.

    With numbers like that the Turbo S really is (performance wise) value for money Smiley

    I get to try one, a Turbo S that is, myself July 8th when I do a "Car Control" day at Silverstone ...and I won't be far behind Conny as my birthday present will be ready to pick up from the factory W/C 19th.

    The wait is agonizing especially with the weather we are having here in the UK Smiley
