Did Porsche reveal the next 928 by accident ?

It is this in body - the many years old but still awesome looking concept of a NEW 928 - and hopefully they will build it to stay relevant and not fall behind all these other marques.
hopefully not another bait and switch, like they did with the panamera sketch.

That worries me, both the A8 and the Pan platform are very long, even after a bit of shortening, that means the result will be a front engined long cruiser. And i just don't think that kind of proportions will play gracefully into porsches design language

No matter what it may be based on the design will be of a length appropriate for a GT now that wendell is long gone.
Porsche's design language whatever that is includes 25 years of 928 flagship, many great years of 944, 968, and now Cayenne, and even the ugly duckling panny. Quite a lot of front engine words in that language. I think based on the 918 that Porsche under Piech can do it right.

Plus the fact that the rear ligths on this sketch are sensational and they should be on the Panamera 4 door...
I hope they do the rigth thing with the Coupé and the future 4 dr...

The Turbo is more like a GT oriented super sports car, something like M3 and M6 in BMW model range for example...

Another one swallows the bait. Hook, line, and sinker. You'd think car design sites and magazines would have a better grasp of the design history of a marke as important as porsche.

You'd also think that that such car design sites and magazines would realize that such sketches are a dime a dozen in any design studio. 
A studio boss has to make his designers make lots of such sketches just to keep them too busy to start sawing the legs of his office chair.
If a styling idea is not yet seen to have reached the stage of a 3D-simulation Computer Aided Styling (CAS) exercise, it doesn't mean a damn thing.

Early sketches tend to exaggerate the size of the wheels and compress the height of the glasshouse to make the designs look sleeker.
A GT Coupe is still coming though...
