It's a fun car, drives really well and "civilized" on 22s"... it's kinda G55 Cayenne by means of sounds and feel, although much more capable dynamically.
600 ps with strong pick up in a straight line and tracks well at high speed(didn't get a chance yet to go faster than 220km/h)
It's one of these cars that don't pose well(Panamera comes to mind...) seeing it in real life gives it the right stance and proportion which some how does not pass through photos,i never thought i would like a Cayenne, let alone the Dakara, but in real life from my experience it looks and drive has a very high feel good factor.
All that has been put into proportion when i drove my wife's new Cayenne turbo - game over that car is so advanced on many levels that the Dakara seems well simple and unsophisticated-again, like the G55 but i like it and think to nick name it the mule...
You seem to be a huge fan of RUF, they do wonderful things with Porsche cars indeed.
RUF is only half an hour away from my home and I know some people there pretty well, incl. Alois and his wife. I guess you already know that though.

Thanks for the very nice comparison photos. Even if the RUF is slightly different anyways, we can see the clear differences between the "old" Cayenne and the new one.
How does your wife like her new ride ?

wife likes the car a lot, mind you, what's not to like?
obviously the interior and the Burmeister won her over from the range rover and even the 911 targa she has and i notice she has started to develop a heavy right foot since the car is so responsive and stable to drive fast with no drama

My wife hated the Cayenne Turbo S..."too big, too heavy, too difficult to park"...at the beginning. Also her best friend, she drove a BMW X3 by that time, was making fun of her because of the bad image the Cayenne had in german society (fuel consumption, etc.).
After a year or so she was hooked and started loving the car and when I sold it and got the X5 M instead, she was really sad, even mad at me in the beginning. Women...
Now she wants to drive the X5 M but I enjoy it so much, I don't give it to her.
Right now I'm trying to convince her not to get another Cabriolet when her M3 lease runs out. Cabs really don't make much sense in Germany, for one or two weeks nice weather per year...really not worth it.

That Ruf looks fantastic!
The front comparison to the new Cayenne demonstrates clearly the way it should have been. Putting 911 front lights to that car makes it not only looking great, it also gives that exclusive touch and trademark symbol!
Well done - beautiful, rocking car!
