Can't help you with the question, but isn't that a stupid answer? Your the buyer of an exclusive high-end car. If you want a yellow mark on your steering wheel, and you ask them for it, shouldn't they just give you the price?
That is a nice looking steering wheel and I believe that I saw them online about a year ago at a reseller with the stripe on it.
Just 2 points - if for some reason it is not mounted just right or the steering is off somehow, it would be irritating as hell to drive down the road with the yellow not perfectly in the middle, and you could always tape it off and spraypaint/ink it yourself.

I've spec'd the same CLA option on my incoming RS. My dealer specifically told me that the thicker wheel would have the yellow stripe similar to the standard wheel. I've also seen pics of the CLA wheel with the stripe (spokes are now black as well). Seem like a communications conflict. I'll know for sure in about a month.

Hi FFaust, is it possible to get a close-up pic of how the yellow is attached to the wheel (is it sewn on / tapped on etc) - then I can start to think of 'after-market' fixes .... depending on what dealer says.
@ Jay, sorry I can't help you as this is not my car, it is a picture that I found online. If I recall from RS' that I've seen, the yellow band is sewn between the two black sections. IOW, it is not sewn on top but rather is sewn as the continuation of the black.
