I don't think that we will see a 599 successor already next year. 2012 maybe, but not in 2011.
I would say: 2015...
I guess after HGTE and GTO we will see convertible of the 599 in the future. Around 2012 I expect a major facelift for the 599, making it a 599M or something, which will come close to the 670 hp of the GTO. Then in 2015/16 it will be the time for the successor.

According to Autocar, "an all-new version of the 599 GTB Fiorano, currently known as F152" is due in 2012.
And an Enzo replacement in 2012 as well.

You should also know that engine torque is the most missleading figure ever as the real torque that reaches the ground is multiplied by the gearbox. Power is the best indication of performance as power is torque x RPM. Not talking into account RPM when talking about performance is just wrong.

here is a little physics lesson.
ferrari scuderia redline 8500 rpm
torque 470nm,
porsche 997 turbo m1, redline 6600 rpm 620nm (680nm with button)
if you want to comere the two only way to do it would be (8500/6600)*470=605
so for comperison ferrari 430 scuderia would have 605nm when geard down to compare with the slower engine of the 997 turbo, so its 605 vs 620(680)

1. Those engines don't have their max torque values at their red-line engine speeds
2. The max torque values tell you nothing about the shape of the torque curve, or to put it another way, the "area under the torque curve".

if you have a 8500rpm, car that goes 310km/h at top speed redline, and a 6600 car that also goes 310 kmh at top speed redline,
asuming they have same tire diametars, it is safe to asume the 8500 rpm car has a 1.288:1 gearig compared to the 6600 rpm car. in other words, to compare the two engines you first would have to put a 1.288:1 gear ratio on the 8500 engine to have comparable torque curves! and only then can you compare the torque curve area..---this is all a very simplified model, asuming both cars have same gear ratios, and same mechanical loses, and run on same tires
in reality, torque curve figures are only important in the last 30% of the revs becasue thats where the engine revs most at during acceleration
ps.if someone want to seriusly study the torque torque curves/differences, all the info they need is tire size, redline speeds for different gears, and the original torque curve, all are provided by AMS i belive

I am not discusing what you do, or do not feel, I am telling you how physics work, if you dont like it or if it doesent feel right take it up with Newton :D
btw Scuderia reaches 80% of its torque at 3000 rpm,
and 6000 and up are the only revs witch are imprtant if you are racing

I was very sceptical about this car,will it just be a cash cow,a badge worth 100k extra,and i hate the way 599s look both inside and out and think they're a too big...but i have changed my mind.

Don't know... Am I making a mistake or is he doing a lap time of approx. 2.16? This would be not too impressive... I did the same lap time with my standard 599 (I think it was 2.17)

I think you are right - 2:16. But the driver doesnt seem to be a real pro and not sure whether he is going full-throttle where he can. His line is also not perfect.
Lets wait for some proper tests. BTW, would you believe 458 Italia´s claimed lap time of 2:02 for Mugello ?

Sorry, I mixed it up completey... My time was 2.08 (599 with Pirelli Corsa). The "official" 599 lap time was 2.04 (4s faster than me). Thus, 2.02 for the 458 would make sense.
The driver in the video then did a veeeerrry slow lap. In theory the GTO should do Mugello in 2.00 or so, right? At least Ferrari claims that the GTO is the fastest road car they built today
