Thank you for the very nice reactions!
@ bluelines: car is indeed seal grey
@ John H: PSE retrofit wil have to wait a bit I fear; I already negotiated well with my wife in order to be able to buy the car and thus no negotiating margin left for PSE
A few points on the car...
As Beltar once said (I think it was Beltar) on the 911: it is a very nice car to drive, but some things you cannot feel or appreciate during a 2 hour test drive, it are things you can only feel and appreciate it if you drive it regularly (or something along those lines).
He is absolutely right, the finer things, the weight shifting, the brakes, the gears, the way it all works together, really takes some time to get well "valued" so I am looking forward to more kilometers and growing appreciation for the car.
Another point is that the car is currently at the dealership for (i) handbrake and (ii) GPS update
Handbrake sometimes went all the way up without resistance, without braking and with a loud uncomfortable noise. Apparently, this is known and something was replaced under warranty.
GPS: this seems to be a slightly bigger issue. Sometimes (especially after some time driving / 2 hours or more), the PCM informed me it couldn't read the DVD. Admitted, the DVD is the September 2004 version and has some scratches on it, so the dealer and I came to the same conclusion: bad DVD that gets hot because of difficult reading and fails. I ordered myself the new 2010 DVD and the dealership would install it (all for a bit under EUR 400 / standard price on Porsche.de website).
Apparently, the install went well and it worked, but when they tested it again, nothing from navigation was working. They are trying to sort out what the bug is and they have ordered some CD to reset everything. They confirmed me that all this is warranty as well so no worries: they either fix it via software or they replace the PCM (maybe I will have MP3 capability then ). Time will tell....
Still happy with the service rendered by the PZ
Best regards!
