The typical California owner/driver doesn't care about these times.
Most probably, they don't even know what these names mean.
I don't think that the word "Ring" means a race circuit to her:
or does Mr. Bolt care about going round Hockenheim?

Actually, California track times are good since they are with normal street tires. Bigger problem is overall way too soft suspension setting of California. This car is even with optional Magnetic dampers way too soft IMHO. On bad road Cali is dancing like drunk slut... And you can not drive it confidently fast that way. Also, my feeling is that Ferrari wanted to hide some body shakes(not so brilliant structural integrity I guess) with roof down with that soft suspension. For example 458 offers much more solid feel-but, it is coupe. Problem is that Audi R8 Spyder offers much more solid feel as well...
If you ask me about Cali-it is great car with some serious flaws that are not exceptable at this price level. Just, average Cali costumer will be very, very happy with its choice.

I bet she loves rings... of the gold and diamonds type though...
IMHO 'ring times are totally irrelevant to this type of car as it's not a sports car and certainly doesn't try to be. Ferrari do a V8 model to cover that base and it's called the 458
I agree about the suspension though Kreso as I've said many times before. The car rolls a lot more than I'd like but as many testers have found once you learn to drive through this and gain confidence in the underlying set up the car can be driven hard. I'd still like to see what the HGTS package brings in terms of altered suspension though.

Well, it depends - ever spotted the sticker "Lieber Nürburgring als Ehering" ? (Better Nürburgring than wedding ring....)

I have been in my friend's California and he was driving very hard on country roads. No body roll at all....BUT he did do a complete reset up of the suspensions and allignements ( and lowered the original suspensions as much as he could ) I was very impressed by the the sporty road handling

You mean this is factory tuning or from outside source?
