Hi and welcome to Rennteam
Various Rennteamers have either retro fitted this or ordered it as part of a new order. Some of the members here who have this are: Gnil, reginos, nberry etc. You could send them a PM asking for their advice

"Form follows function"
I've had several quick drives in the 997 with the push / pull switches and I am afraid I couldn't get to like them, maybbe it grows with familiaristion.
BUT at a recent Boxster experience day at Silverstone I drove the Spyder with PDK and the new paddle wheel and found it a revelation, light years ahead of the switches. If I was ordering a new Porsche with PDK I'd definitely specify that paddle-wheel, and if I had a PDK car with the switches I'd definitely retrofit the new wheel. It looks better, feels better and operates better. It's a no brainer in my opinion.

Exactly my opinion. The best thing I did to my car was to retrofit the new steering wheel with paddles. Before I liked the PDK only 45% , now I'm at 85 %, and that's being conservative

You remember who spoke you into doing the retrofit!

I've been meaning to put something up too, but been pretty busy lately. As I'm sure you know first hand Easy, it's quite a nice setup, definitely worth a visit.
For my money the handling track is a bit short, but has plenty of corners. The 'ice' bits are quite fun but not especially challenging. There's not that much space to play if you know what I mean... But very Porsche. Friendly staff, but a bit clinical in places. Good view of the track from the roof though!
Will try to post some literature scans of the facility (if that's permitted?)
Car wise, the Spyder is tighter handling than the standard Boxster. not stupid amounts, and I suspect it's more due to the suspension setup and perhaps the wheel weights than the weight reductions in the rest of the car.... but definitley a bit more fun.
And a jolly good day out. DC and I had fun.

@easy - Really enjoyed Silverstone thanks, it's an amazing facility there, but much like wtsnet we've been busy, in my case not work so much as catching up socially after the manic refit season when I just don't have the spare energy to get out much other than work! Stupidly forgot the camera when I went to Silverstone, but yes, I will get round to writing it up here. Also just had a week in Dorset, one of our more scenic counties and I must get around to posting some piccies on the Off Topics Board.

When the biggest defender of the buttons was more then happy with the paddles and even found them much better, I knew the change is a must . Thanks
