Yeah, you're right, frickin "taste." Sometimes i think "taste" is just a habit. Everybody says we should all try new things, be open to new experiences... . Boy, that's hard to do with a $100K car "investment."

What's funny? There were a bunch of details which bothered me when the car first came out and I ordered my car with the options I could to "get rid" of some of those details which bothered me.
Nowadays I love the car (anybody's optioned version) and I even like most (not all) of the details I once "hated."
I wonder when BMW (Bangle-versions) will start to NOT bother me, soon? Actually the z3 and z4 don't look as hideous to me now as I once thought !

The leather, specially the center piece is a really cheap, if it is leather at all 
A car at this price range should have a kick A$# wheel that feels and looks good. I like the Cayyenne triangular wheel with all the buttons but it just doesnt look good in 997s. It kind of looks oversize for a sport car.

Do you mean the standard Wheel with the C2 because thats exactly what I felt and included in this was the sun visors. Although I kept the standard sun visors I did upgrade to the smooth leather steering wheel. I understand this matches the leather on the dash better.

I got the Multifunction wheel and I like it - particularly good for adjusting the volume of the stereo. Quite like the thinner style now, although the places to hook your thumbs are a bit small / low profile on the standard and MF wheels.
P.S. I agree about some of the Bangle BMWs: I now have changed my views - I like the 1-Series, the Z4 and latterly the 5-Series (although the wheels are too small and out of proportion with the rest of the car - fixed by the M5). Still don't like the 7-Series - the rear is fugly and looks unfinished. I absolutely hate the 6 series - low slung a***, which looks to me like a failed attempt to copy a P-Car style rear combined with a sort of weird morphed spoiler type thing on top... The 3 Series is just dull - was walking down the road the other day and thinking how much better and more aggressive the old 3-Series looks.
