Not for me. I would enjoy them in a track event for example, but not for driving on the public streets, they call too much attention which ruins the enjoyment of the car, and are also not intended for they use I like to put them through. If I had a collection of cars then yes, a little of everything, and this for the ocasional drive on the deserted road. That is not to say I don't appreciate what the offer and admire them, but I other type of sportscars call my attention more. If I was forced to choose between a GT3/RS OR this or a Lambo, I would take the GT3/RS without hesitation even if its cheaper.

I was of the same opinion 10 years ago As you know, tried the predecessor of the 812 once but that was enough for me... The 488 is excellent, though.

You should wait for the 488 Speciale... Heard a rumor that they finally got rid of the turbo lag...completely (hard to believe but who knows).

Yeah, some sweet NA motors there.
If we give the awards for best NA motors of the moment, I think the Performante is the best 10-cyl, the F812 the best 12-cyl, the 991.2 GT3 the best 6-cyl.
To whom should we give the awards for NA 4-cyl and 8-cyl? There aren't many of those - I can think of Mustang GT350 at the moment for volume production...

The Aventador has also an excellent 12-cyl. engine, which may finally get a proper DCT with the next generation (hopefully). 8-cyl.? Yes, the GT350 certainly has an excellent V8, maybe also the Aston Martin Vantage S.

Not strictly current but my favourite NA V8 is hands down the 458 Speciale.
Well, certainly not a bad choice.
Performance-wise (straight line), I am pretty sure that we are going to see some amazing new performers in the ELV sector in a decade, maybe two decades tops. Still...ELVs will never deliver the emotions we are used to. Unless we enjoy being driven around in autonomous cars, probably the future. I call it "forced mass transportation in private autonomous cars" because our politicians clearly marked the way: In a couple of decades, we aren't supposed to drive ourselves anymore and only certain individuals with special permits are supposed to be allowed to drive individually (this is something German chancellor Merkel told people at a symposium in Argentina, I almost thought this was joke).

I think the Aston NA V8's are being replaced by the AMG turbo units. Current 4-cyl award probably goes to something like the BAC Mono (but hardly a production car). The old Honda S2000 2.0L motor probably gets the prize for high volume 4-cyl...

Met a S2000 from Holland a couple of weeks ago in Germany (actually two cars, maybe there was some sort of a meet here) but when he drove off the fuel station, it sounded horrible. 
I kind of have a different (better) sound in mind.
Very nice high revving concept, would have loved to own one when they were available.

Good luck fitting into one. I'm 6' 4" and I couldn't close the door as my knee was between it and the steering wheel.

This certainly seems the way we are headed. One silver lining might that Ferrari owners are forced to take their car to the track
. There again they might just leave them in the garage

I have an option for a 812 superfast who would be delivered in 2 months..I own right now a 488 GTB one year old and 1,700 kms.
I have to give my 488 + 170,000 euros to get the 812.Do you think is it worth?
I am also afraid of the depreciation 812 could have in 2 years...(minimum 120,000 euro)
What do you think guys?
