Michelin PS Cup vs PS Cup+
Further to our recent speculation about the differences between the Michelin PS Cup and (new) Cup+ version I now managed to get some more detailed background info.
The attached Michelin document shows that the Cup+ version:
- is claimed to have improved wet track and acquaplaning qualities
- is sold as N0 and N1 spec (strangely enough, the N0 spec does not bear the Cup+ reference but still is a Cup+ tire as visible in the attachment)
- tread pattern is slightly different for the Cup+ version (as also well visible on the attachment)
- some of the Cup+ tires do have a "+" sign on the tires, some don't (as, for example, the 235 dimension) - this is not relevant though, as these tires are also Cup+...
All a bit confusing. However, the attachment answers most of the questions we discussed recently. The N1 spec is also officially approved for the 997GT2 (based on Michelin info I got through my tire dealer).
