I can confirm the number that Stefan posted.

Price will be huge,  specially with some options.

    Interior is a la 997.2 GT3RS...

Weight is without any option. So, NO Navi or any sound system for example.

Also... According to my info 997.2 GT3RS is the sportscar for KENNER. Or for very, very skilled sportscar driver.

Do you mean the 997.2 GT2RS is the sportscar for KENNER?

More or less a car for experts and enthusiasts.

Honestly, I am most interested in whether the car is also approved for winter tires Smiley

P.S.: According to SportAuto the GT3RS is even more comfortable - no joke... - than the regular GT3. The perfect daily driver Smiley

Is the GT3RS approved for winter tyres? Interesting to find that it is more comfortable than the basic GT3Smiley.

Hopefully, somebody at my dealer can tell me the answers... I am most curious. Also, of course, about the possible confirmation of the other rumoured "facts" we discuss above... Smiley

    Re: 997 GT2 RS

Markus, about 620ps... Competitors are VERY good lately. That is the answer why full 620ps.

Porsche knows what kind of time 458 can do on the Ring. They also know what amazing time McLaren MP4-12C achieved lately on the Ring(that white VP8 car)... Even R8 GT is very, very fast on the Ring.

So, full 620ps was needed. Just, as I said before it is the car for kenner...

BTW,997.2 GT2RS interior is way too ascetic for my taste. When you see the pics you will know why.

That's how we like it Smiley

BTW, you are probably right about the competitive pressure: today a big step is needed to re-establish an adequate leadership position Smiley Still, I am VERY surprised that Porsche might indeed sell a car like this. Honestly, this car (if the specs are correct) will be revolutionary Smiley

    Re: 997 GT2 RS

BTW, Markus German price with Mwst is around 237405€... When you add some options you can land at 250K € level...

Could be cheaper, indeed. However, if you think about the performance (again assuming the specs are right). No other car will offer that level of performance at a similar price tag. Also, the car comes in 100% stealth optic - if ordered in black rarely anybody will know what kind of car this is... With full warranty and everything. Perfect tool for everyday and fastest on any track Smiley

    Re: 997 GT2 RS

Kreso, is the interior more extreme than that of the GT3 RS? I think the GT3RS interior is quite OK. Just the essentials...

    Re: 997 GT2 RS

By Kenner you mean top expert, I presume?

If that is the case it could develop a reputation of a "widow maker"  especially if the mid-engined rivals are more user friendly on the NBR track and elsewhere.

Well, I agree that this kind of interior shows all facets of plastic available on the market today Smiley A BASF employee will love that look... But then: it is functional and light weight Smiley

    Yes, top expert driver.

And I agree with you about Mezger and manual only.  It is a car for even more individual buyer then Audi R8 GT(which is with same options about 50K € cheaper)...

    Re: 997 GT2 RS

Well it is almost established that Porsche in the past always witheld some performance in their cars because they could. Now they need to step up and they have, look at the improvements of all the 997.2...

I'm interested in the options list, what can be added and what not

For instance, the front axle lift system means a lot to me while backing out the car, I have to turn the steering wheel fully to the right to avoid rubbing the front lip (it happened the first 2 days)

Lol Tobby, I had actually starting writing sth along these lines too! For sub 9sec to 200 and sub 20 second to 300 with manual box you need A LOT of juice.. But nevertheless 620 factory hp is mighty impressive. Can't wait to see how they got that in terms of cooling, turbos, intake and as you said exhaust flow. This car might become a classic..

Some rumours spread on the net indicate a 0-200 of slightly below 10s and a 0-300 of about 25s. Should be correct IF the car indeed had 620hp (which I still doubt very, very much). With the shorter gearing (top speed unchanged compared to GT2 Mk1) the above acceleration numbers could be correct Smiley

    From Lepzig

    300 will made

    90kg less than 997.1GT2

    0-100 3.2

    620HP

0-200 BELOW 10S ...not slighty below

0-300 Below  25s --not slighty belowSmileySmiley

    much carbonfibre SmileySmiley

If those numbers are confirmed , Porsche hit hard and wanted to make a point. Smiley

Do you really believe it ? Sportec and 9ff GT2 with 750/800hp does it above 9s. I know that Porsche hp is usually stronger than tuners, but anyway....

3,2s and under 10s for 0-100/0-200 is already crazy for a RWD non-PDK car.

    Re: 997 GT2 RS

    the above info is correct.

i also have seen detailed pictures of the car in the photo above.

unfortunately i cannot post them, out of respect to my source.  however, i will describe some details you cannot see from the above picture:

    - the hood (luggage compartment cover) is carbon, and on the launch car, is unpainted

    - the front splitter is as we saw in early spy shots and has something that look like "teeth" in the center section.  it is very deep, and is in carbon

    - the lower part of the rear bumper is in black, all along the lower edge below the exhaust tips

    - the interior is a little bit "ricey" in my opinion, at least on this car.  it is black, alcantara everywhere, but with RED accents on the steering wheel, shifter, door handles, center console and arm rests.

    - the wheels are in gold (as you can see in the picture above)

    - there is a tiny "GT2RS" script behind the front wheels.  much much smaller than the script on the GT3RS

Thanks for the details, car seems magnificent.

It looks to me that the intakes are not larger, just without the central fin removed and painted all grey (or carbon fibre).
