it's not coping at all. cgt driver on every launch told gt2 driver to go ahead, then waited till he took the lead and stepped on it just to catch up in a matter of seconds.
where did you see the gt2 'coping' ?

Interesting, from first watching the video, I thought that the GT2 owned the CGT on every run. Then, after reading your comments, I watched again and yes, it looks like the CGT was toying with the GT2. I guess you can't always trust your eyes

I disagreed. You know I find it interesting that someone initiates a race and after losing he claims he didn't get it up to the required RPM's (458 vs.TT.2) or here where you interpret the CGT owner playing with the GT2. Why bother with four runs and each run has the CGT catching up after several seconds. Drag races end after several seconds.
In this instance, the GT2 was faster until they hit VERY high speeds when the 75 more hp took over for the CGT.
I''ll try again.
The first round, they both accelerated almost at the same time. In the second round, the CGT did tell the GT2 to go ahead before accelerating. In the third and fourth round he pulled along side and told to GT2 to go and he also accelerated. Each time the GT2 beat the CGT.
The GT2 was faster until much higher speeds. Of course this may have something to do with the drivers. But I am stunned that the CGT did not walk the GT2.

CGT V-10 is just an amazing engine and the CGT will rule the Porsche performance Roost until/if the 918 is produced. Put those new tires on the CGT and it should do even better.
I really like the video of the CGT, the veyron, and the super bike, where the CGT fishtails under acceleration. Nothing beats N/A power for enjoyment or sound in a street car.
that's the hans dahlbeck gt2...massively tuned and with sequential tranny IIRC
secondly, it isvery clear from the vids that the cgt driver in not fully stepping on it.....maybe he is worried of loosing the car as it has no stability control.
i am a gt2 owner myself and would not fool myself into believing that a gt2 would keep up with a cgt.
At the rolling speed the used to race the CGT would have no problem loosing control. At much slower speeds it could be a problem but not at the speeds they were racing at. Been there, done that.
A better and more plausible explanation is the GT2 was tuned. However, the sequentially IIRC does puzzle me because in one of the runs it appeared that the GT2 totally missed a shift?
