I went to Neckarsulm to pick up my Audi, as it included a factory tour and a nice meal and stuff. As I arrived there, they told me it was only A6 tours that day, man was I disappointed....
As they carried us around in a bus, I could even see part of the R8 production line, but they did not even stop the bus!
How could they do that?
The tour was interesting still.

Sadly, no. Once we left the customer area, I had to leave the camera in a locker. Some people did take pictures with their mobile anyways, but I didn't.

In Porsche they don't allow pictures too and they ask for mobiles to be hidden, but the following explanation was given:
If any pictures with people (like factory workers) are published in magazines newspapers etc, these people can sue according to German law if they were not asked and approved beforehand. So, the photo ban supposedly is to avoid this eventuality. True or false
That argument is true, but it also applies to every photo you take on the street.
Everyone publishing a photo knows that anyways and there is no restriction on private use of the pictures according to german law.
So while not wrong, it's certainly an excuse.
