will 430's and 360's with f1 transmissions depreciate more quickly?

f1 trannies are now obsolete with the coming of double clutches, which are smoother and faster. 6 speed models should not be affected.

    what does everyone think?Smiley

That F1 Superfast is one of the greatest transmissions ever! ;)

I don`t think the F1 transmissions will negatively affect the resale value of the given cars, because they represent an era which will give them some speciality if anything. I however think that in 20 years, replacement cost or even maintainence could become even more steep!

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine..  I happen to like both :)

The manual cars will become more valuable imo (I know they are the ones I'd consider as a buyer).  Not only are they far more rare, but they are more fun to drive and less expensive to maintain.

Maintenance could be a crucial factor. Smiley

Invariably, the 360s and 430s here with manuals are less expensive and harder to sell than the F1s, so I'm not so sure about that.

Once all the 430's are out of warranty, things will begin to change...

That's probably true. Are the maintenance requirements for an F1 that much more than a manual, or is it a case of if and when it breaks , it will cost substantially more to fix it? How often do clutches go on a manual 360/430?Smiley

Clutch on manual and F1 have similar life spans on the 360. Depending on driving habits, from 20,000-30,000 miles. I believe they are the same for the 430.

A careful driver can make a manual clutch last 2 or 3 times as long as an F1, according to my Ferrari mechanic.  Maintenance (when required) is more expensive for F1 too.

Re: will 430's and 360's with f1 transmissions depreciate more quickly?

On very new low milage cars cars I think the F1 cars will have better resale, but the more time passes the more the trend will invert and the the manuals will have better resale value from there on, because F1 trannies are know to be more fragile than the manual counterparts so that brings some uncertainty to the reliablily and costs that the F1 may bring in the long run, as well as the higher maintenance costs, which is more important for the higher milage the second hand buyer than the new-car buyer.

Also I don't see how a properly driven 360/430's manual clutch could need replacing before 60,000 miles
