It sounds very strange to me, because the card from the DTM are C segment here in Europe (Mercedes C klass, A4, Opel Vectra), while the Panamera is much bigger than those... is an E segment! So I personally I doubt there is such a project.

if they shorten the platform maybe it's possible. But that means first we will see a panamera coupe a la 928!! It would be great news, though i take it with some grains of salt.

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

There was a reference to N-technology´s (formerly running Alfa 156 in ETCC) development of the Panamera S for the V8 Supercar series. Could it be mistaken for that?
A DTM initiative would not make sense since Audi is already successful running so it would be weird to see both Volkswagen companies in one series.

Well, the Australian V8 Supercar series is said to be open to more makes (currently only a two make series, Ford and GM-Holden) and adopting some of the technologies of DTM. Maybe someone will run the Panamera here! Having said that, you would want to be pretty confident that you can win with it. I mean, the Falcon (ford) and Commodore (Holden) are what all the taxis here are so you wouldn't want to lose to them!

I thought taxis are always on the fast side... Wouldn´t want to lose with a Porsche either.
Having said that, the idea of entering a Porsche in Australia´s Supercar series sounds rather odd to me if competing with bread-and-butter cars like the Falcon.
