My wife loves the Cab and wants one. Tomorrow we are meeting with the sales rep. It will be a July production with delivery sometime in August.
Carrera white with beige interior. Only other option will be heated seats. The S package is fairly complete.

Nick - glad to hear it..
I feel the same about options, but fancy GT Silver - just for a change.
Also feel that, if the wife will be driving, you should consider rear park assist...
Very good value for £341...

Will wonders ever cease? Congrats and welcome "back" Nick, even if only for your wife. (Guess you won't have to worry about the exhaust mod?)
One "warning": Don't - race - her. :-) Unless you have another PDK Turbo, just do NOT race one, ever. I am staying out of her way too. LOL.
BTW, up to you and only a minor point, but I have sand beige interior too and to break up the too much monotonous yellowish interior tone, I custom order Porsche floor mat that is light chocolate color. It also doesn't get dirty looking as fast.

Congrats Nick
I have no doubt the performance will absolutely blow you away but I wonder how you overcame (and mentally reconciled yourself with) your own consistently and vociferously expressed criticisms of the styling and of your perceived absence of excitement, sensation and specialness with a mass-produced Porsche?

John, I take it that you decided to go ahead then? If so, congrats

Welcome on the dark side, Nick.
Turbo S looks like a rather perfect package to me. I would advise ordering rear parking sensors as well, seat heating may be another consideration. I also like seat ventilation, but then you have to go with the comfort seats.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

Wow, great news Nick.
I just don't buy this "wife wants" thing.
Please post many many photos when you get the car, thanks.

Gentlemen, thanks for the recommendations which I will follow.
This came to pass when my wife after driving to the closes Porsche dealership in Newport Beach with the overheating Cayenne saw a white Turbo Cab and told me she thought it was stunning (she never said that about my 430 Spider). She asked that when I picked up the Cayenne to look for it. Yesterday I picked up the Cayenne and on the show room floor they had a white TT Cab but with black interior. I took a long close look and decided it was much better looking than the base 911 because it had a much more aggressive look.
I called my dealer in San Diego and my rep told me he had an allocation for July. I questioned my wife as to how serious she was about the car and she told me she could not get it out of her mind. I wanted to make sure she would drive it and promised she would.
Today she will pick color and options. The two tone seats are odd especially if your going with beige. Also, the RS wheels in my view do not look as good as the Turbo 2 wheels.
I wonder how bad depreciation will be on this car?
Nick, reading your story I can see two possible versions:
Whatever, good luck with the new car

Nick,
Two advices from me-order standard Turbo 2 wheels(non cost option for Turbo S) with colored Porsche crest. It looks much better IMHO. Also, since Carrara White is exterior color for your wife my advice would be Black, Dark Grey(Natural leather) or Carrera Red(Natural leather) for interior. Black top of course.

Almost fell of my chair and spilled my coffee reading this.
Re. wheel, if RS Spyder wheel only comes with center lock, then IMO that's a no-no, especially as this is going to be your (he he he) "wife's" car. (Just giving you a hard time here for fun Nick.)
I could imagine situations with flat when this center lock would be a great nuisance, as non-Porsche tire stores won't likely have the 5 foot long (not sure, but it does look very long) instrument to undo a center lock wheel.
A yes vote for rear parking sensor, but only if your wife ever backs car into a spot, obviously. After much internal debate, I added this option to my car, and it does work as advertised.
I've seen a white convertible with cocoa top and beige interior, and felt the combination particularly pretty. Just a thought.

My sincere congratulation for you and of course for your wife...
Good decision and I'm not that worried about the depreciation as I don't expect that this is higher than on the "normal" Turbo.
Now the "race" is open which Rennteamer will get the Turbo S first.
Mine is scheduled for delivery at the end of Jun..
Long time and hard to stand...

OMG . Nick you converted ?
Congrats!!! you won't regret it .
I bought the car after MY WIFE picked the options SHE wanted.
Carrera White, Sand beige interior
Yellow Calipers
Vented and heated seats seats
Park assist
RS SPYDER wheels. In person they look much better than the Turbo 2.
Otherwise the S has just about everything else you would want on a car.
Cost, $172,000 MSRP 170,200
July production August delivery
Oh FWIW, the car will be in her name.

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

LOL, nice Nick!
Options picked by a woman: "yellow calipers"... PCCBs, or only yellow calipers?
Anyway, funny that your wife made comments about the looks of the turbo and not about the 430... even I, who am no ferrari fan at all, must say that the F430 looks stunning.
Well, congrats on the car, hope the two of you will enjoying it!

nberry:Oh FWIW, the car will be in her name.
so that will be your excuse for the future when challenged as to why, you out of all the people and all you have said about the 911 and 911 buyers in the past, will be driving a 911 again; "its not mine, its my wife's"
Fritz is going to have a filed day with this
PD: BTW, a sincere congrats Nick and listen you your wife more often, she is wise
PD2: you need to post a short review on your impressions on the 997TTS when you get it, your point of view is not the typical 911 owner's and will be very interesting to hear

Forgot, show your wife the darker cocoa interior in the white exterior of a 997TT cab (black top) as well just in case, I test drove one (MkI) and that particular looked fantastic, the colors in the combp is as if they were made for one another. The pics are not great but gives you some idea:

Vented seats, good decision. I really like this option, since I find it very useful and effective.
Good to hear, that the RS Spyder wheels look better in person, as I had some headache if they'll really fit the car (I was also a fan of the Turbo 2 wheels at first).
