so will be the 991 OR 998  LAUNCH in 2010?!?!?  to be  MODEL 2011!?

While I agree with all the rest of what AAHTT wrote above I don't expect the launch of the 991 for 2010. Most likely: IAA in fall 2011 Smiley

In that case, no 991TT until June/July 2013 as 2014 model. Does this mean a 2 year production for the current S?

Anthony, this comment is quite telling and emphasizes the dilemma of PDK.

Anyway, model year, introduction, production, etc., etc., so confusing! Smiley I wish we could all use the term "showroom ready" instead. At least for the US. What I see so far:
    991 C2: showroom ready around September 2011, +/- a few months.
991 Turbo: showroom ready around September 2013, +/- a few months.
Are we all in agreement, more or less?

As far as timing, it appears Conny is on a 3-4 year cycle of changing cars Smiley, and if so, the Turbo S would work out perfectly for him. For those with 6-7 year cycle, a wait for the 991 is a no brainer.

The "problem" with 991 is that from what I could see so far, it's wide and low, more like a true exotic and less like a daily driver, and if so most likely will make our 997 very boxy looking. (But that's just the beauty of owning a 911: 997 may be boxy yes, but will remain as timeless as ever in my eyes. And probably has better road visibility.)
In addition, if PAG engineers ARE lengthening the wheel base and pushing the engine forwards as rumored, then 991 will make 997's chassis obsolete as well. This would be a huge, almost revolutionary change IMHO.

as mentioned before,991 turbo could  be introduced before "usual porsche timing"

    Conny,

Your reasons make perfect sense to me; and, as I count the gray hair appearing on my head, the one highlighted above the most powerful indeed :-). Believe me if I had the $, I would have pulled the trigger in heart beat.

Congrats on owning the best Turbo ever made and being first on these forums with the S. Smiley I am GREEN, with envy.

I fully agree with your timeline. 991 C2 will be seen sept 2011 OR spring 2012.

FIRST possibility for the TT indroduction is therefore autumn 2012 (which would be pretty early), more likely in spring or autumn 2013.
In the past I'm on a 2-3 year cycle.
But maybe the last 997 Turbo S will be become a classic, y'll never know...Smiley

^^^^^2-3 year car cycle? I did not know there are people who do this. ;-) Enjoy your good fortune. And forget the grey hair.

    Alright, so we have:
    991 C2, showroom ready, September 2011
991 Turbo, showroom ready, March 2013
give or take a few months.

Re: 997.2 Turbo PDK test by Auto

4-5 years cycle is more reasonable.

Re: 997.2 Turbo PDK test by Auto

I am way too confused by all of these dates.  All I know is that at the Geneva show this year Marc Mauer told me we would see the new 991 "this year."  Take that for what it is worth--I sure cannot make any better guess...
