Re: BMW M5 (2011): new F10 super saloon scooped
Whoopsy:
Not everyone is a car nut and likes the sound of engine 'noise'. Per RC, more than likely he is keeping the car at least 3k-4k rpm maybe in 2nd gear, those bystanders probably think RC was just 'showing off' his exhaust.
Yes, I always thought of this. I actually enjoy the sound of the M3 a lot, it is the best sounding car in the family for a very long time but not really the right car for inner city driving from various points of view.
Funny: next week my wife is getting the new engine software update which increases exhaust sound. This update has been available for some time, it was a request from M3 customers who made complaints that BMW tuned down the exhaust sound, especially the "double clutch" sound when downshifting with the first DCT related bugfix. I didn't have time to get this new software update but next week...
Only when I drive through my neighborhood, I keep the engine rpm very low, so nobody feels provoked. Outside my neighborhood...well...
