    iPod, iPod, Where for art thou?

    Just thought I'd post a new thread on this, just in case anyone from Porsche... (cough)... Sorry that was anyone from Porsche is reading...

    What's the deal on this? I'm sure there are many many Porsche owners willing to pay through the nose to be able to interface an iPod to the MOST bus.

    Anyone have any recent info on this?

    It look like for now we have to do with state of the art technology such as Tiptronic S and CD Changer... only the other less advanced and less sporty brands such as Ferrari get Ipod integration...

    I've given up waiting and have bought an itrip auto as a stop gap. The Harmon Karmon thing looks good but involving lessing with the trim much more than I would like.

    I'll let you know how I get on with the itrip when it arrives

    Actually this is some great biz-opportunity for third party audio equipment developers. If there was a solid Ipod (or any MP3 player) integration I'm sure lots of people would pay a lot to get that solution.

    Extrapolating from the evident engineering effort spent on Porsche's Becker and Bose systems, an iPod integration kit should be available no later than 2012.

    Well of course! People have been "working" on this for over a couple years now. Dension for instance--there's was supposed to be out what, Q1 of 2005?

    It's hard for a little guy to get in on the MOST game. I was thinking of doing this myself--looked over the specs and it's not a big deal. The problem comes from getting into the MOST consortium and getting test hardware from the manufacturers. LOTS of money... *sigh*
