What have you expected ?
Changes are the following:
1. new rear light design (same shape though), similar to new 5/7 series
2. two new options: sideview camera (shows front part left and right) and speed limit info (camera reads speed limit signs)
3. frontlights get a very minor change, almost invisible
NO 8-speed auto tranny, no engine upgrade, NO OTHER CHANGES !
Good news for us I guess.

Hi Christian,
When is the delivery of your X5?
What about power boost with rumoured performance pack.?
My X5 M should be here at my dealer in two months (end of March).
The rumored performance pack isn't official yet and I doubt it will be available any time soon. I suppose it will be introduced with the X6 LCI (facelift) this autumn or spring 2011.
The X5 M seems to sell like hot pretzels over here in Germany, apparently there is no need to offer more power...for now.

they just put in the new LED stripe that curves up at the ends. Why not, also good news for current X5 owners and of course RC haha!
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Sideview Camera and Speed Limit Info too ?
..maybe not, but my dealer probably wasn't cared about such gimmiks. And don't forget: w're talking about the optionlist which contains sideview and speedlimit. There is no need to choose them imho
I talked to my dealer today and he tries to add the two options to the order but he was pretty sure that it ain't going to work on this "early" car. Lets see what happens. If this would delay my delivery, he will NOT add it.
I'm actually very happy that the X5 M LCI changes are only minor.
The next X5 generation is due 2013 as far as I heard. This will be also the time when I'm going to decide if I stick with a BMW SUV or go back to Porsche. Time will tell...

Thats a photoshop, but it shows well what changes will be... X5 M LCI will get only new LED graphics in rear lights.
Im not sure about a gearbox, but I heard that X5 and X6 will be available with 8 speed gearbox.
It is an "official" photoshop, meaning that it shows the car from the original BMW sales brochure. This is it.
The X5/X6 M does not get the 8-speed automatic tranny, the new LCI pricelist is already out, including the update of the BMW order system. Only the non-M versions get the 8-speed automatic tranny. This is confirmed.

I didn't talk about specific X5 / X6, but only what will be new with LCI. So looks like that 8 speed gearbox refers only for non M variants..

Like I wrote in previous posts:
“I don't believe on a 8-speed auto tranny for the M versions as the new M5 (2011) will not have it. The 8-speed gearbox doesn't tolerate either the torque or it can't provide the fast shiftings I guess”
Of course it may not depend on having problems with the torque but with the fast shiftings. I assume in LCI X6 2011/2013 we will see the “M5 DCT”.
