Two weeks with my facelifted 997.2
My first 911 was a brand new at the time 2005 911 launch car in seal gray. My new car is a 2009, 911S in meteor gray. Both cars look very simillar but yet they are so different. Why you may I ask did I buy another gray car ? Well inbetween these two Porsches I had a metallic black BMW 650i as I wanted a more pratical daily driver. While the BMW is great looking it was not exciting to drive and I missed the rush I used to get driving my 911, so here I am with the new 911 in Meteor gray which replaced the Seal gray color. My new porsche has 60 HP more than my original 997 and better gas milage too . The performance difference with the sports chrono, sports PASM is very noticeable especially above 4000 rpm. My first 2005 997 had sports chrono but it did not really make that much of a difference unlike the new 2009 997.2 . The interior is simillar however the touch screen interface for the radio and navigation is easier to use. This new car has satellite radio which also gives you automatic traffic re-routing with the navigation, blue tooth for the cell phone and ipod interface all luxuries not available with my original car. The funny thing is that all these upgrades: the bigger 3.8 liter engine and the other interior upgrades after the 20 grand discount the dealer gave me brings to cost of the new car to be the same price I paid for my 2005 911. I could not be happier and intend to pile the miles on this car over the next 3 years. So far I have nearly 900 miles, it had 64 miles when I picked it up at the dealer. Instead of buying snow tires, I picked up a Toyota Rav4 for the snow and ice days and for throwing my road bicycle in and skis etc. This 911 is a terrific every day car that it is fun to drive. I look forward to my drive to and from work now
