i was caught by a radar in beirut 2 month ago at 270kph, i got a ..... 32$ fine
i love this country
And how much "bakshish" did you pay ?
In Germany, video surveillance is a major problem. They drive after you until you do something wrong, this really sucks. Last time they followed me and I spotted them in time, I was intentionally driving 60 kph in a 80 kph zone and they still stopped me to ask...why I was driving too slow.
What actually annoys me most is the arrogancy and disrespectful comments some of these policemen sometimes make, despite the fact that I'm actually a very nice guy when I talk to them. The nicest ones are actually those who work in a regular squad patrol car. Those specialized on "hunting down" traffic violations are a..holes, sorry to say that. Even if they don't catch you but stop you to check out documents/etc., they make stupid jokes or call you by your first name (I'm 44 years old).

sorry to hear that !!!, I can completely understand....Just think it could have been even worse, like being involved in a crash accident or something.....by the way how many kms does your speedster have ???, any plans on attending future track days???

Funny you mention that, as someone backed into the Speedster and didn't leave any references, so no insurance... +/- €2.000 to repair, and it's been in the garage for 1 month now, still not ready!
I've got 64.000km's, as soon as it's back I will be back on track, if all goes well, that'll be from 15 februari 'till the end of november... I already ordered a fresh set of trackday-tyres, can 't wait! I'll post the reports here when the time comes.

Ouch, you're not very lucky with the Speedster lately. You should give a call to that cute girl from your last track day, maybe she can console you
THIS is almost up there with weirdness.

Last year I was fined driving with a stock Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder through the city for "loud driving & for causing scandalization".
I have to tell you, that I was driving about 50 km/h in 4th gear in order to have the exhaust valves claused, but the policemen giving me the fine where from a special unit, which has to patrol also in our streets.
When I payed the fine (EUR 21.--), the were following me to my meetingpoint for the next 15(!!) mins, and when I parked the car, they shouted out of the car "learn how to drive that kind of cars properbly"!!
THAT was also sick, but it show the envy what sportscars are arousing...
