I love the vents in the rear bumper and front spoiler. I hope at least some semblance of these designs makes it into the new Turbo which will follow the FL.2 in a few years (whenever it arrives). While the FL.2 is a real performer, I think the exterior is still a bit dated. It will be tricky to make significant design changes--with Porsche's evolutionary approach--but maybe Piech will mandate a quicker, bolder change.
Good news...just heard from the Dubai dealer that the 997.1 GT3 RS colour will now be available for the .2 !!
Am a big fan of black rims and love the blue launch colour but have to admit it doesn't look great on the photoshop that was kindly produce above.
Could someone come up with a photoshop of the grey black with black contrasting colour rather?
think this would look really nice.
Should be pulling the trigger beginning of Feb.

stunning indeed what a beast, can't wait to hear the first one in person!
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

The Sport-Auto article is just a driving report with nice pics - not a test. Not really any news.
That was actually one of the lamest reviews ever in that magazine. I actually bought it because of this and had to read through eight paragraphs of crap. The only interesting notes are a. the power increase to 450 hp due to a two-stage intake system, resulting in slightly less power in low and midrange but, similiar to the Cup car, enhanced performance beyond 6000 rpm and b. the shortened gear ratios with only 1000 rpm difference between 5th and 6th gear.
Wonderful car, but if there is something that I don´t like, then I have to say that I am not convinced by the door pulls, especially in that color. They look like they will constantly get in the way of your left forearm. Maybe a small piece of velcro tape on the back would help.
It´s on the same level with the obnoxious RS decals. Sort of too much flash, but for who? It gets me down to think that apparently there are people at Porsche who think that this is necessary. The actual people buying the car will probably have their minds set up by the technology. These things are for the onlookers, but they are not the ones to buy the car...
Besides all that, the RS is also on my list as the car to have, no question. I just have to try the standard bucket seats to see if they are indeed too high, otherwise the single-piece buckets are mandatory, but very costly.
