    The GTR was still the 'old' model (the model year depends whether it's US or Europe).

    In fact the new model (delivered from around april) will correct some of the criticisms addressed by the ams test:

    comfort will be strongly improved, cooling and airflow of transmission will be improved, performance (throttle response) should improve slighty due to new high flow cats, updated torque distribution between front and rear axle, updated braking distribution, downshifts programmed to happen more aggressively , new suspension setup and some minor non performance related changes.

    So I guess that the new MJ of the GT-R would fare better in a comparison test...Smiley

    Maybe Nissan should have developed the car properly before launching it... Now, the reputation is already damaged.

    BTW, given the severeness of the GTR problems I seriously doubt that the switch to a new MY will bring substantial improvements Smiley

    Interesting you say that as the owner of a car costing 200k at the pinnacle of at least 15 years chassis and engine development!!  Smiley

    What is good and allowed for Porsche should be equally good and allowed for any other car manufacturer. Particularly Nissan - who with the GTR has managed to given an impressive shot across the bow of the the iconic 997tt should get the benefit of the doubt!

    I firmly believe that the improvements introduced by Nissan will improve the car - particularly reliability wise. Is it going to be better than the new 997.2 tt?  NO, but it will be better than the actual GTR - and that's what I expect from a serious car producer! Smiley

    ps:  let's see how the new tts launch control holds up to the US drag strip orgies, who knows we'll soon be talking about reliability issues there too...Smiley

     When will we see first chip tunes from tuning houses for 911 Turbo PDK?

    I think that chip + sport cats is a must for this car - it will fly over all of the principal competitors...

    It will be interesting to see if the usual "headroom" which Porsche have always allowed in the various Mezger turbo iterations is there with this new engine........ The Mezger "headroom" was hard won on the race track, this engine has no such "development"

    No official word on specs and options yet, some things, that have been said here before:

    • 530 hp
    • only available with PDK
    • PCCB as standard
    • big price hike in comparison with turbo (175k ?)
