Right now, the new 911 Turbo acceleration with launch control (PDK) can't be beaten by any streetlegal sportscar on the planet.
3.2 seconds from 0-100 kph is a record figure, Formula One race cars used to deliver this number not a very long time ago.
From a performance point of view, the new Turbo is a spectacular car, no doubt about it.
I just hope that the new engine is as reliable as the old one. Still having doubts about it.

God bless your enthusiasm, but the facts speak clearly here: Porsche is just about to play catch-up with a Datsun launched in 2007 and even in its renewed version (stronger, much lighter and 70k more expensive) it is not able to beat it on track!
If I were Porsche I'd be ashamed...
chapeau Datsun...

You are missing important facts... The GTR is slower on the track - if similar tires are used (Pirelli Corsa and Dunlop, for example). Also, the GTR is slower in all other categories and not reliable.
In total, you summary is incorrect, sorry to say this
I dont really understand how my summary should be incorrect.
Porsche is indeed playing catch up to a Nissan model launched in 2007, it is stronger (500 vs 485hp) and lighter (approx 150 kilo). These are facts, not opinions. I have not seen a test of the turbo with sport tires yet. In this specific test, the GTR on the standard delivery tires is faster than the Turbo on standard delivery tires. If Porsche chooses to spec their car like this it's their problem.
So let's wait for the sportauto supertest of the 997.2 with sport tires. I agree it will probably be a bit faster than the GTR - but it should be massively faster - which again it wont be.
As to your opinion re reliability most horror stories focus on tuned GTRs which then again voids the guarantee (which btw is 3 vs 2 years at Porsche). There is not enough statistics out there yet to say that the car is not reliable as such. Porsches are generally speaking reliable (we know this cause they have been built forever), but we don't know about this new 997tt engine. So the jury is still out there on this one.
...and then just wait for the new and improved model year of the GTR out very soon..

I agree, we don't have a test of the 997TT Mk2 on UHP tires yet. So let's wait and see

French ok, English ok, e un picollo Italiano, but no Deutch Anyone care to summarize what was said in the videos, in case it was "important".
Hey, my first car was a Datsun 240Z rustbucket
You don't miss anything important. The speach is pretty useless

UHP stands for ultra high performance?
