PSDS decals - advice needed please

The Porsche Sport Driving School sent me some nice decals for my car. I am attaching a photo of them below. I have 3 of each type Smiley

I am not sure whether I should attach them - the larger size ones are really enormous - so I am not keen to attach this type Smiley

The smaller size ones are still quite large too and I am thinking whether to attach this type Smiley

What would you do guys? Smiley

Also, they are sticky on the underside - but I am not keen to attach something that sticks to the outer surface of the windscreen. What do you guys think? Smiley

If you think it's a good idea, could you suggest some ideas for where I could attach them? Smiley Rear window? Rear side windows? Front windscreen above the rear view mirror?

    Thanks for your advice Smiley

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

If you put them on I would put a small one on the bottom of the rear side window.

The only other place would be the on the rear bumper, juste next to the back lights ( as the Ring sticker on my car ) , or just slightly above on the bottom of the rear hood, close to the back light.

But as there is writting ( and in the back you already have Carrera S) I would not overloead with more writting and put it on the rear side window ( also a bit more descrete)

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

Easy... Personally I would not fit these decals at all..Smiley

To me they would scream one of two messages to fellow road users i.e.

    1)  "I'm a Porsche Sport Driving School Instructor/Graduate - so don't even think about messing with me - I'm a much better driver than you...so watch it!!"    or

    2)  "I don't own this car - it belongs to a Driving School Course I'm attending."

On your Short Shifter thread (below) you were against decals....what's changed your mind? Smiley

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

@Gnil: Thanks for your suggestions Gnil  Much appreciated

@John H: thanks for your views - I haven't changed my mind about decals - I still don't like model decals on any Porsche (except for GT3 and GT3 RS). IMHO model decals only work on a 'loud' Porsche.

Aesthetically, the only decals that I would consider attaching to my own car are very small decals - such as a memento of a track day or trip to the Nordschleife etc.  I usually like decals to be very small and subtle - i.e. not immediately obvious.

I certainly won't be attaching the larger PSDS decals. They are just huge (roughly 55cm x 10cm).

My indecision is about the smaller PSDS decals. They are roughly 40cm x 3cm. I certainly wouldn't put them on the bodywork. I also think it's simply too long to put in the rear side window(s) and the rear windscreen already has the 'Porsche' name along the bottom.

However, a smaller one could be placed along the top of the front windscreen. Porsche-Jeck has a 'Porsche Sportfahrschule' one on his 987S - it looks good

These are all aesthetic factors (and I am still thinking about it from an aesthetic perspective) but John, like you said, in relation to the message(s) that it gives out to other road users, this could make it a non-starter.

Thanks for your candid advice - really appreciated

You do not have to put them anywhere...

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

Of course, it's totally optional - but I have been considering it purely as a memento

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

John, I've been so busy making all the arrangements for my next holiday (leaving on 8 Dec) that I haven't had any time to even think about the decals

But it's looking less likely now

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

John H, at the moment, it looks like I won't be fitting the stickers/decals - for the reasons we discussed previously

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

Hi Easy - I think that's probably the best decision.

You could always use them on other items such as containers i.e. toolbox, brief case, luggage etc...

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

Do tell... what are the reasons not to use the decals?

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

Well Easy, here's what I would do (not 100% certain as I would have to try first): I would use the larger decal but cut it in half to remove the writing. It is a nice pictogram and will personalize  your car while sending a message to those in the know, to the inner sanctum. No need to involve anyone else

I like the Ring decal such as Gnil's, it is discreet but has meaning

Re: PSDS decals - advice needed please

    Thanks for the input guys

@ADias: hi, the reasons are all set out in the posts that John H and I posted earlier on this thread
