in 2011 new 458 scuderia version
2011 is the introduction year of the new Spider. I doubt Ferrari will present two new versions of one model at the same time.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

So soon? Usually the Scud is introduced toward the end of the model cycle. I wonder what the reasoning is behind that decision.
Maybe they are taking a new marketing approach since the Scud sold so well. giving them the option of launching yet another variant of the 458 towards the end of the production cycle while still selling on both the regular and the scud market for a larger amount of time.

it will be presented the same year of the new 458 Challenge for track-racing

Okay, that would make sense. Any inside info about the specs?

Well, "more track orientated" doesn't say much, does it?
IMO Ferrari has presented a very competent sports car with the 458 Italia. So what could they improve? Of course a bit more power, but does it really matter if you have 570 or 590 horses? And what do you want to improve at a DCT-gearbox, you can't make these gearshifts any quicker, can you?
I guess the main attention will be on weight reduction by using expensive materials and less comfort options. Even more than in case of the Challenge Stradale of a Scuderia.

It is also obvious that the cars make big steps forward in terms of electronics/software from generation to generation. Therefore, I would expect that the Scuderia version will have a significantly refined and improved setup of traction control, stability systems, steering etc. This and the weight reduction (plus tire technology...) should result in significantly improved lap times

oh yes !!!, those pics would do !!!! I 'll take it !!!!!
I do have to say it has increased in me, with the official pics I thought ferrari went too futuristic ala Lexus style or something , but the more I see the more I like it, in fact it would be a very tough decision choosing a 458 vs a gallardo LP 560-4....Don't know which would be the better !!
The review of Chris Harris, was just superb, love that moment when he opens the door, no music whatsoever, starts engine and shows us what is capable during a mountain curve drive !!!. Just insane!!

Stretched Out for Aero Stability
The 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia sits on an entirely new aluminum platform that is 20 percent more structurally rigid than the 430's chassis structure. It's much like the F430 in concept with its aluminum extrusions, sheets and die-cast pieces, but new technology has dramatically reduced wall thickness, and the hood, roof and door skins are in fact just 1.0mm thick.
