"This is very possibly the best car I have ever driven"
Until next week of course, when another car it's going to be the "Best car in the woooooooorld" and the "Best car I've ever driven". How many times I've listened to Clarkson saying things like that....

I don't take his opinions seriously at all, but Clarkson is entertaining without a doubt.
same here - very entertaining, but we all know what we should think about his comments!
Exactly. That's why I think he is a jester.
Jester defintion=joker, wit-cracker, prankster or buffoon; a person employed to tell jokes and provide general entertainment.

Haha, you guys are such haters
JC is underrated and misunderstood
So he calls a car the best in the world every other month, but that's just because he is passionate about cars (and wants to make lots of money), what's wrong with that
And I don't agree that JC is not able to judge if a car is good or not, yes he may have a childish and sometimes stupid way of getting his point across, but how many other journalists do you know that has driven as many (nice) cars as he has?
Most of the time I find his reviews entertaining and funny, but with a serious undertone. Like the 997 and E60 M5 tests.

REALZEUS:
Clarkson is an entertainer, not a journalist. Do not take his word for anything! That said, the R8 is great. Just not 430 Scuderia or Gallardo 560 great.
He actually is a journalist, who is entitled to his opinion. I personally don't take his word for granted (not only because opinions are subjective but also because he is, as you stated, an entertainer too), but let's say that I tend to give credit (to some extent) to a guy who has driven more cars in his life than all of us... combined.
He's not a professional racing driver, I'd give you that.
By the way, Duel was pretty boring to watch. Same location (Ascari track in Spain, same gimmicks and bits, etc.). But it was actually nice to see Clarkson and Needell reunited (and VBH). I was quite a bit surprised that Tiff "agreed" to be referred as a "failed racing driver", but that was entertaining nonetheless. And, oddly, that white Cali driven by VBH was quite sexy.

Being trained as a journalist does not automatically quilify you as one. You also need to be objective, he is clearly not. He is funny though. If I wanted to be seriously informed about a car I would choose Tiff Needel any time.
